Graveyard Halloween Cake

“When witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers, ’tis near Halloween.”

Looking for an easy, festive dessert for Halloween that the whole family will enjoy? The kids will have fun decorating (and eating!) this graveyard cake, complete with Milano cookies and candy corn pumpkins!

Ingredients:

1 box of your favorite cake mix

Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies

Chocolate wafer cookies, finely crushed

1 container of frosting (any type of white frosting is fine, as you will color it green)

Green food coloring

Candy corn pumpkins

Brown or black icing pen

How to:

Bake the cake in a round cake pan according to the directions on box. Allow to cool completely.

Scoop the frosting into a bowl and using a few drops of green food coloring, mix well until the coloring is incorporated. Remove the cake from the pan and place on a dish or piece of parchment paper. Frost the top and sides of the cake. Transfer to a cake plate or serving platter.

Using the icing pen, draw RIP on each Milano cookie. Allow to set before handling the cookies. When dry, nestle each cookie into the top of the cake frosting.

Finely crush the chocolate wafer cookies. Place a “pile” of them at the base of each Milano cookie to resemble dirt. Place a candy corn pumpkin next to each ‘tombstone.’
