Pork Chops and Stuffing, Degustabox

My husband is a real “chop” man.  He loves, loves his meat and potatoes and pork chops are one of his favourite meats.   When I saw the contents of March’s Degustabox I knew right away what I wanted to do with the Stuffing Mix from Kent’ Kitchen that was in the box, and that was to cook the Toddster some Pork Chops and Stuffing, and that is just what I did. More about them a bit later, first I’d like to tell you about the other products I received in this box.  *nom *nom!

KENT’S KITCHEN Stuffing X 1

Kent’s Kitchen stuffings are a tasty addition to a roast dinner. Made with all natural ingredients and chunky pieces of fruit, herbs and spices, these easy to make stuffings will complete your meal. Just add water, stir, bake and serve the delicious stuffing for an added taste explosion. Each pot serves four people.

Available in four delicious flavours:  Apple, Sage and Onion, Apricot, Apple and Ginger, Rustic Red Onion, Herb and Horseradish and Cranberry and Orange.

I received a pot of the Cranberry and Orange and this is the product I chose this month to highlight with a recipe.  I have to say that I really enjoyed the flavour and texture of this stuffing.   It had a nice balance of herb and fruit flavours  . . .

There were nice bits of cranberry and orange in the mix  . . .  which went really well with the flavours of the pork . . .

It was very easy to make  . . .  simply put it into a bowl, stir in some boiling water, let it sit for a few minutes and then proceed.   Pork Chops and Stuffing are very tasty, very tasty indeed.  I like the bone in old fashioned rib chops.  The meat next to the bone is always sweeter, or so they say.  I think it’s quite succulent myself.

Preheat the oven to 180*C/ 350*F/ gas mark 4.  Line a baking tray with some aluminium foil and butter the foil lightly.  Season the chops all over to taste with some salt and black pepper.  Place them onto the baking tray.  Divide the prepared stuffing mix into four equal portions.  Place this in a mound on top of the meaty part of each chop.  Dot with butter.  Bake in the oven fot 25 to 30 minutes, until the chops are golden brown and their juices run clear.   If you think the stuffing is getting too brown, cover lighty with foil.  Serve hot.
