Holiday Cheese Spread

As most of you know I get a lovely box each month from a company called Degustabox.  To those not in the know, if you sign up for it, once a month, every month . . . What you receive can be tailored to the types of things that you like and would use.   I love these boxes because each month feels like Christmas when it arrives!  The November box was this year’s Christmas box and it literally sparkled!   Here is what I received!

 Ryvita Thins 1 X £1.89

Caramelized Onion Thins and Sweet Chilli Thins are two of the flavoursome flatbreads from Ryvita.  They are a source of fibre, and are perfect for a delicious snack; whether you’re watching a movie, catching up with friends, or just feeling a bit peckish.

Ryvita Crackers  1 X £1.29

Ryvita Crackers are distinctly crispy, and have been aked with wholegrain rye and olive oil for a fuller flavour.  Low in saturated fat, low in sugar and high in protein and fibre these crackers are available in four delicious flavours including Golden Rye and Green & Black Olive.

I am a great fan of Ryvita anything and chose to highlight these flatbreads and crackers with a recipe this month.  In a season of great indulgences it is nice to think that you can indulge and yet be just a tiny bit healthier with it.

These both went perfectly with this hearty cheese spread.   You want a nice and sturdy cracker that won’t fall to bits with this spread and both of the flavours of the flat bread and the crackers did not clash at all with the flavor of the spread.  In fact they went perfectly with it.

 This is really a delicious cheese spread with the richness of not one but two types of cheese (or more if you buy a multi cheese blend), the fresh flavours of spring onions, moreish BACON, crunchy smoked almonds, creamy mayo and a bit of a kick from both black pepper and hot pepper sauce!

You could also spread it onto squares of toasted bread or crackers and bake them in a hot oven for a few minutes to melt.  A hot nibble.  Delicious.

Any way you choose to enjoy it, I think you and your guests will agree that you are in for a real taste treat!  Best of all (as if simply being delicious was not enough) it is quick and easy to make!

Mix all of the ingredients well together in a bowl.  Taste and adjust seasoning of pepper and hot pepper sauce as required. Some people might want more.  I find this amount is just right for us.   Pack into a serving dish and chill for several hours until ready to serve.  Place onto a tray and surround with your crackers and cracker breads.

Can you spell MOREISH?  Scrumptiously delish!
