Elementary School Teacher Arrested by U.S. Marshals Task Force for Alleged Sexual Contact with Former Student

Plano, TX – On October 14, the U.S. Marshals-led Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force arrested Jorge Ruiz on charges of indecency with a child by sexual contact. Ruiz, a former elementary school teacher, is accused of having sexual contact with a former student, who was between the ages of seven and nine at the time of the offense.
On October 13, the Plano Police Department requested assistance in locating and apprehending Ruiz and delegated apprehension responsibility to the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force. Ruiz had previously been arrested on similar charges and had been released on bond. After Ruiz’s initial arrest, an additional victim came forward to the Plano Police Department and a new arrest warrant was issued for Ruiz. Ruiz was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Plano City Jail for further processing.
The Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force includes investigators with the U.S. Marshals Service, Plano Police Department, Carrollton Police Department, Denton County Sheriff’s Office, Denton Police Department, Flower Mound Police Department and the Collin County District Attorney’s Office.
