A report is available that provides recommendations for creating community-based alternatives to the youth prison model. The Future of Youth Justice: A Community-Based Alternative to the Youth Prison Model, was published by the National Institute of Justice in partnership with Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government Program in Criminal Justice Policy and Management. The report examines experiences from several states that have pursued alternative models.
