Watch Water Moving at La. 24-Acre Sinkhole, Children at Risk

Water moving at the center of Louisiana’s monster 24-acre sinkhole today is shown in the video below, courtesy of Assumption Parish officials, but what about children’s lives at risk? Mum’s the word on that.

This water movement event follows quake activity in the early hours of Friday morning after which the hole “burped.”

While the sinkhole’s last size reported was 24 acres, after each “burp”, the unstoppable greedy bayou giant swallows more land, thus increasing in size.

“This is soo disturbing to me,” exclaimed June Boucherie, who grew up on the bayous there where generations of her family did before her.

“AND they say it’s ‘stable’,” she said Friday on Facebook, following the latest catastrophe-in-the-making news at the “sinkhole.”

“Bottom line is, nobody knows exactly what’s going on ..OR.. what to do about it (unprecedented, remember?)

“And some residents are still there, and Hwy 70 is still open to all traffic, including numerous school buses full of children!!”

Why close the highway? The only people who died in Oakland’s 1989 collpased bridge in an earthquake were those on the bridge at the time, a tiny fraction of those who used it.

The people could stop using Hwy. 70 if they are concerned about the highway safety. They could stop sending their children to school instead of putting them in harm’s way.

Secrecy surrounding the Louisiana sinkhole is similar to the recent deadly crude oil accident at Lac Mégantic, Quebec.
