Belize Confirms Patient With Ebola Symptoms On Cruise Ship Off Its Coast

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

October 2014BELIZE – Reports tonight are that two individuals possibly infected with the Ebola virus are in Belizean waters. Local TV station Channel 7 monitored in Belmopan tonight, reported having credible reports that a couple from a Texas-based cruise ship presently anchored off Belize City, is on a ship tender, unable to return to the cruise ship, while being refused entry to Belize City to catch an air ambulance awaiting at the International Airport to take them to the their country of origin, the U.S.A. The television station in its broadcast tonight said Belize health authorities contacted tonight have so far refused to deny or confirm the report. Later tonight in breaking news,  Channel 5 Belize is reported that it has: “Confirmed with representatives of the Ministry of Health that they have indeed received a report that there is at least one passenger on board the cruise ship, Carnival Magic, showing symptoms similar to that of the Ebola virus. According to the report made to MOH, the person exhibiting the symptoms did not come ashore today. The ship is reportedly carrying 3652 passengers and a total population of 4633 persons. “The Carnival Magic departed from Galveston Texas on Sunday, October 12 arrived in Mahogany Bay, Honduras on Wednesday October 15 and arrived in Belize this morning, Thursday October 16.
“The ship was scheduled to leave Belize en route to Cozumel this evening at 5pm. However, it is still anchored in Belizean waters near State Bank Caye.” “We have also have confirmed that the Coast Guard has been deployed to prevent anyone from leaving the ship; including the Belizean pilot on board.” In a press conference held last weak, Belize’s Ministry of Health stated that in the event of an outbreak of Ebola in Belize, no patient would be allowed into the commercial capital Belize City, where most of the Belize government cabinet officials reside. The MOH stated that the government hospital, the Karl Heuesner Memorial Hospital has but one Intensive Care Unit and they would not allow this to be overrun with Ebola patients. Belize is a a very poor country that depends to a large extent on tourism for its foreign exchange income. Belize City is currently the main port of call for cruise ships. –Belizean
Spain quarantines four: The emergency protocol for dealing with a possible case of the Ebola virus was activated at Madrid’s Adolfo Suarez-Barajas Airport on a day that saw four people hospitalised with possible symptoms of the Ebola virus. The airport protocol was activated after a Nigerian passenger on an Air France flight (AF1300) from Paris, but who had started his journey in Lagos, complained of fever, headache, shivering and sweating, causing the plane crew to alert Spanish authorities, Xinhua reported. The aircraft, which was carrying 156 passengers and seven crew, was taken to a designated area at Barajas airport, the possible Ebola suspect was then taken to the Carlos III Hospital in Madrid, while the remaining passengers were allowed to disembark from the plane after having their details taken and instructed to get in contact with the hospital should they develop signs of fever. Thursday also saw two further people taken to the Carlos III Hospital, where nursing auxiliary Teresa Romero is being treated for the virus. The first of these was confirmed as someone who had been carried in the same Ambulance as Romero, after she had originally been taken to hospital in Alcorcon Oct 6.
The ambulance carried no special protection against the virus and after taking Romero to hospital was not disinfected for 12 hours during which it carried a further 7 people. The patient, who health authorities confirm is not a medical worker, had formed part of a group of over 50 people considered to be “low risk” of being infected with Ebola. The third person taken to the Carlos III is a Spanish missionary from the “San Juan de Dios” order, the same as Manuel Garcia Viejo, who died in Madrid of the virus in September. The missionary, who returned from Liberia Tuesday was taken to the hospital after developing a fever. Finally a person who abandoned Sierra Leone eight days ago has also been taken to hospital in Tenerife as a precautionary measure after developing a fever. Meanwhile Romero’s state continues to give ground for optimism and Fernando Simon, the Director of the Center for Alerts and Sanitary Emergencies, informed on Thursday that: “the level of the virus in her body has diminished…Her immune system is being able to control the infection.”Simon added that Romero’s internal organs were “improving” and there were “clear signs for hope,” 17 days after first developing symptoms of the disease. –Daijworld

Hmmm…Cruising. It has always disturbed me…
A big old boat, thousands of people, A tiny swimming Pool on the top deck… Wading around in the ocean… Did I mention thousands of people? Oh the humanity! Literally.
      Titanic…

Gotta love the banker-controlled country of America. We won’t close our borders, you can fly in with Ebola from your home of Liberia any day of the week and we will get an ambulance to pick you up at the airport as soon as you get in, all on the taxpayer dollar.

Be an American in distress in a foreign nation. You are SCR3WED and nobody, no nation, no military, no state department and no official leader is going to get your sick and disabled bones away from that nation, that holding cell, or that disease.

Someone’s got to remind me, why we still have a United States, when our Washington Traitors have so thoroughly destroyed it already?

CRAZY….. Everyone that had any contact with an ebola patient should have been quarantined for the 21 days and at the very least should show good judgement and not do any traveling. How could anyone take the risk of further infecting others and contributing further to this outbreak??? I dont get how a person with medical experience wouldnt think it wise to put themselves in quarantine after treating or having any contact with anything having to do with an Ebola patient! For crying out loud, at the very least I would avoid doing anything that would expose my family and friends… Its a shame how someone could become so confident in themselves and in the process that wouldnt see the need to take additional safety steps to protect the well being of the general public… I certainly wont be traveling on Frontier Airlines or Carnival anytime soon….

        sammy,
better rethink the days, as it is confirmed that the incubation CAN be up to 90 days!! with a average of 42 days!!

If BIN contributors are going to be reporting every case where someone has flu-like symptoms, which are just like early Evola symptoms, then it’s going to be a very long Winter.

Now I would consider that even though it’s plain to see that the CDC has been very slacking in their thorough protectiveness and safety procedures, I would ask what happen to basic common sense of people knowing they have handled one or more potential contagious elements, and still willing travel putting love ones, family members, even unsuspected strangers in harms way. Even IF no governing agent had told me not to go here or there, I would have cared enough for my family and others to not go near them during a known possible contagious period. I don’t even allow my daughters and grandbabies to come over if I have a COLD.

This ebola event is like a movie thriller, full of bad choices, wrong decisions, lack of common sense JUST SO the virus can spread for the sake of the movie.

IF this was a diabolical plan to spread a genocide virus, I’m hoping that Positive Energy of the Nazareth Christ and Powers, Grace and Mercies of Allah showers us with the Creator’s Protective Love.

Last I checked, a person vomiting, sweating, feeling aches and pains is suffering from common flu. I know I’ve experienced all those symptoms when sick with the flu. A person suffering from Ebola bleededs out of their eyes and ears ect. Nor is a person with Ebola contiageous to others until they’re in the final stages of the disease. So unless all these so called Ebola infected patients from above recently visited Africa and had person contact with a Ebola infected person before their flight or cruise, they are not infected. However, it would seem that the media controlled shills are trying to push the idea that the outbreak is spreading faster and faster…ask yourself why???

What I have read elsewhere this morning is that one of the people was a lab tech at the hospital in Dallas where Duncan had been treated and she MIGHT have handled lab specimens of his before he died. She was self-monitoring for fever and had begun the cruise before CDC changed their protocol about people with possible exposure being allowed to self-monitor and being allowed to travel freely as long as not showing any symptoms. The cruise line had apparently not been told she was possibly exposed. When CDC changed the protocol and require medical personnel to monitor exposed people the cruise line was notified. A doctor on the ship has been checking her and her husband for fever and/or symptoms. Both have shown no evidence of infection to date, neither fever or symptoms. Belieze, knowing a person can be infected and not show symptoms is not willing to take the chance of allowing anyone who might have Ebola to go onto their tiny island. Since the change in CDC protocol the couple has remained in their cabin, waiting out the 21 day incubation period. (Information was released today which indicates that the incubation period can actually drag out as much as 45 days from exposure.)
The point I wish to make is that this couple is not showing any symptoms at this time, in that aspect, this story is incorrect. I highly admire the govt of Belieze for taking steps to keep their country disease free, and wish our govt had the same concern for our citizens. Any possibility of a person having been exposed to Ebola should keep them from entering our country without a mandatory 45 day quarantine first.

How much chlorine will clean an ebola pool?

This is becoming a joke. With these symptoms, and this being a Friday night, half of all college undergrads will appear to be possible Ebola victims by 3am.Get a grip people.

The sick patient worked with the other two nurses….
