The site of the latest Japan earthquake is the same where a 9.0 magnitude earthquake struck in 2011 resulting in a devastating tsunami.
The JMA (Japan Meteorological Agency) has released a statement saying that the Japan earthquake was an aftershock of the devastating 2011 earthquake.
This is seen as the biggest aftershock of the disaster since the ones experienced in its immediate aftermath.
Large Earthquake Warning
The Japan Meteorological Agency has simultaneously issued a warning that another big earthquake may be expected in the next few days.
The agency also advised people in the area as well as the entire region to be vigilant and cautious in the coming days.
However, the tsunami warnings have been downgraded. Residents of the area are still warned against visiting the shore. [click to continue]
