LEAKED Document: The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and How It Will Effect YOU If Signed

This will be the New America if the TPP or Trans Pacific Partnership agreement becomes law. Recently WikiLeaks obtained a 95 page draft of the TPP free trade treaty. This document has been in process for three years and negotiations have been underway between the Us, Canada, Austrailia, New Zeland, Japan, Mexico, Malaysia, Chile, Singapore, Peru, Vietnam, and Brunei (Philippines, Thailand, and Colombia will join later). Until recently no one has been able to get their hands on this document, including Congress, but luckily WikiLeaks, has opened the veil on this wicked scheme.
We knew the TPP would be bad when we found it, we just didn’t realize how bad. Check out this video:
The Us administration is aggressively pushing the TPP through the US legislative process at this moment. What most Americans don’t realize is that this treaty will fundamentally change our laws on Internet freedom, health care, copyright issues, food safety, environmental standards, civil liberties and more. Furthermore, it will merge encourage the emerging of hte world into one economic system….aka…New World Order!
In the words of WikiLeaks’ Editor-in-Chief Julian Assange, “If instituted, the TPP’s IP regime would trample over individual rights and free expression, as well as ride roughshod over the intellectual and creative commons. If you read, write, publish, think, listen, dance, sing or invent; if you farm or consume food; if you’re ill now or might one day be ill, the TPP has you in its crosshairs.”

The claim that nothing is being done in the Pacific about this TPP is completely misguided. There has been a significant amount of public discussion and protest in both Australia and New Zealand about and against the TPP. The politicians are acutely aware of the consequences of the TPP, and have chosen to ignore public protests and concerns. Every demand for information has been met with a refusal.

the contributor Ghost and i had recently discussed the importance of TPP exposure gaining traction and from all appearances that seems to be happening, given the growing amount of coverage i have been seeing over the past two days.. but will it continue?
one piece of good news now is that a large part of congress is taking a stand against granting fast track authority to the white house and the USTR (United States Trade Representative), which seems to have thoroughly screwed up a golden opportunity to push this treaty through. however, from what i have learned, immense pressure and jacked up lobbying efforts upon members of congress to grant this power to the USTR could begin to “persuade” congress to abdicate the constitutional role “to regulate commerce with foreign nations”, thus giving the USTR the power of finalizing the trade agreement. congress would then only be able to do a yes or no vote without seeing the full agreement. hah.. sounds a lot like the obamacare vote, no?
one can easily see the importance of wide exposure and opposition to this agreement.. thanks for being a part of that effort.
