The land of the Sopranos is always interesting politically.

(From The New York Daily News)

Gov. Cuomo directed the head of the Port Authority to “lay off” an inquiry into the Bridgegate scandal and approve a bogus explanation for the gridlock following conversations with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a former PA official claimed Tuesday.

David Wildstein, who has already pleaded guilty for his role in the September 2013 gridlock testified he had heard there had been conversations between the two governors after the bistate agency’s executive director, Patrick Foye, vowed to get to the bottom of the lane closures from Fort Lee to the George Washington Bridge.

Cuomo’s crew was quick to dismiss.

A spokesman for Cuomo used stronger language — he denied the conversation with Christie ever took place, and called Wildstein’s account the “false and delusional” imaginings of “a convicted felon.”

So that’s that.
