Sessions issues sweeping new criminal charging policy (This is a loser for the administration)

The drug war is way worse than the drugs.

And consider this statement from Sessions,

“Drug trafficking is an inherently dangerous and violent business,” Sessions said. “If you want to collect a drug debt, you can’t file a lawsuit in court. You collect it with the barrel of a gun.”

Exactly! That is why prohibition is stupid! It’s dangerous and violent because the drug business is illegal. Push it farther underground and one just increases the amount of violent crime around drugs. Decriminalize (and in some cases legalize outright) and violent crime lessons, profit motive is reduced, people are less fearful of getting treatment, and the cronies (see above) are marginalized. But some don’t want to see the cronies marginalized of course.
