Monday is the vote… Hold on to your horses…

This dude should run for office.

I will love to see how this even gets enforced.

I’m thankful I live in the free country of Russia and although we don’t have the benefit of genetically modified food, it’s still pretty good. I can buy apples just picked by grandmother at the market and not worry about who is going to catch me in this dastardly act. Are people in the future going to laugh or cry when they see what is happening in America?

    • Anonymous

I really like this guy’s attitude, this just occurred to me though. Wouldn’t it be more efficient for the government to just give us all a list of what actions are approved rather than keep passing laws that prohibit just about everything. The way things are now progressing in a couple of years the list of things that are allowed could be written on the back of a postage stamp. (Assuming we will be allowed to have postage stamps.)

Why do I keep visualizing the image of one of those scenes in a movie where everyone is rowing a boat and there is a guy at the end with a great big whip making sure no one slows down? In those movies the people rowing the boat normally had no idea where they were going, they just kept on rowing so that they would not be punished. This is exactly what the government is doing to the population, it is becoming more and more apparent all the time that the government no longer serves the people, the people serve the government, actually the people do not really even serve the government but those that own it, the central banking cartel and all their subsidiaries.

      Goodbye America….Hello George Orwell
Even is Eastern Europe the Communists used let people use tiny plots to grow vegetable in many places….most notably Poland.
The real reason for this is to put small bakers and farmers out of business and control food. If you control food you control people.
You buck the system and your state or area or home gets government threats against your food supply.

    • JustaDude

It still has to pass the Senate and House. Plus if you read the bill you would see that it only pertains to companies and companies that own warehouses that store and produce food. The bill basically lays out how the FDA can inspect the food and when they are allowed to do so after a food emergency has been declared (I.E a mass recall for Salmonella, E. Coli, etc). It in no way takes away your individual right to plant a garden, harvest and sell it in a stand at your house, or to give it away to neighbors.

    • JustaDude

The bill does not take away your right to grow your own food, nor does it out law the people from planting gardens, and selling them at a farmers market. It only creates a strict oversight policy for large production farms, and their warehouses.

In no title or section does it state that they are going to out law organically grown food in your backyard. Maybe before you post an outrageously false claim you read the bill beforehand, and then you’ll see that gardens aren’t going to be outlawed.

SWAT Team Like Raid by Ohio authorities on a farm house in LaGange
      http://tinyurl.com/59fxfb

      Posted: 12/04/2008

Ohio authorities stormed a farm house in LaGange Monday, December 1, to execute
a search warrant, holding the Jacqueline and John Stowers and their son and
young grandchildren at gunpoint for nine hours. During the raid the Ohio
Department of Agriculture and police confiscated over ten thousand dollars worth
of food, computers and cell phones. The Stowers’ crime? They run a private,
      members-only food co-op.

While state authorities were looking for evidence of illegal activities, the
family was not informed what crime they were suspected of, they were not read
their rights or allowed to make a phone call. The children, some as young as
toddlers, were traumatized by armed officers interrogating the adults with guns
      drawn.

The Morning Journal, a newspaper serving northern Ohio, reported that the
Stowers were believed to be operating without a license. However, the Stowers
claim that the food co-op they run does not engage in any activities that would
      require state licensing.

Friends of the Stowers openly question why such aggressive tactics were
necessary to investigate a licensing complaint.

The Ohio Department of Agriculture has apparently been chastised by the courts
in previous cases for over-reach, including entrapment of an Amish man to sell
raw milk, which backfired, when it became known that the man gave milk instead
of selling it to a state undercover agent, refusing to take money for what he
believed to be a charitable act. The Amish literally interpret the Gospel of
Matthew (5:42) to “give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow
of thee turn not thou away.â€

The matter has been forwarded to the Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office and the
Lorain County General Health District according to Lorain County court records.

So now that S-510 is here to protect us, we can all finally breathe a sigh of relief. If they are going after unsafe food growing practices then of course they will have to take down every any GMO organization and fine them severely for growing food that causes cancer in animals and for covering up all research that proved it. They can also fine companies like MONSANTO for poisoning us and 45 other countries with their product Roundup and insist that they clean it up and pay for all damages to the people and the environment. Of course it will probably be like trying to get BP to clean up the dispersments in the gulf but hey, what they hell. That should keep them too busy for years to even think of messing with the little farmer. Hopeful? No, just extremely cynical.

“I can see the day coming when even your home garden is going to be against the law” – Bob Dylan (zionist jew), 1983, from the song “Union Sundown” on the “Infidels” album.

Hmmmm…..I wonder how he knew (wink-wink)

Good Lord!! Our government has made all of us into common criminals (if this becomes law). And all in the name of protecting us. Where have we heard that before?

It’s time to read a good book on some Americans taking a stand against federal tyranny. It’s a thriller & culd be our destiny.

I would love to see “them” outlaw growing your own food, but I doubt this law does that. I have not read it but if it does make growing food illegal, then the revolution is at hand. I would probably be like the fall of the Soviet Union (I was there) in which the government no longer had support from anyone, not even the police and troops. Same would happen here. These “leaders” are not dumb enough to do that are they? But they are some dumb shits.

Or, “they” are some really bad fuckers that are jumping straight to a Bolshevik type strangle hold on food. If so the blood bath is on and lets open them up.

      This is your Food Czar:
Michael R. Taylor is the Deputy Commissioner for Foods, at the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). 1976, after passing the bar examination, Taylor became a staff attorney for the FDA, where he was executive assistant to the Commissioner.
In 1981 he went into private practice at King & Spalding, a law firm representing the biotechnology company Monsanto, where he established and led the firm’s “food and drug law” practice.

On July 17, 1991, Michael Taylor left King & Spalding, returning to the FDA to fill the newly created post of Deputy Commissioner for Policy. On July 17, 1991, Michael Taylor left King & Spalding, returning to the FDA to fill the newly created post of Deputy Commissioner for Policy.Between 1994 and 1996 he moved to the USDA, where he was Administrator of the Food Safety & Inspection Service.

After briefly returning to King & Spalding, he then returned to Monsanto to become Vice President for Public Policy.
Taylor has been a professor at the University of Maryland’s School of Medicine[5] and in 2007 he became a Research Professor of Health Policy at the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services.

On July 7, 2009, Taylor once again returned to government as “senior advisor” to the FDA Commissioner. Taylor’s re-appointment to the FDA came just after Obama and the other G-8 leaders pledged $20 billion to fight hunger in Africa over the next three years. According to Paula Crossfield “President Obama is embedded in a bubble” featuring some of the fervent promoters of the biotech industry and a Green Revolution in Africa. Before joining Obama’s transition team, Taylor was a Senior Fellow at the think tank Resources for the Future, where he published two documents on U.S. aid for African agriculture, both of which were funded by the Rockefeller Foundation. And on January 13, 2010, he was appointed to another newly created post at the FDA, this time as Deputy Commissioner for Foods.

Taylor is featured in the documentaries “The Future of Food” and “The World According to Monsanto” as a pertinent example of revolving door since he is a lawyer who has spent the last few decades moving between Monsanto and the FDA and USDA.

now….don’t worry about this silly old bill of his. shhhh….go back to whatever you were doing.

It’s amazing how not one media outlet spoke of S.510, the Food Safety and Modernization Act. It creates 18,000 new Federal jobs within a new department of the FDA who now have the unwritten power to lay the ground work for our national food production at a cost of $1.8-billion over 5-years. Sure, the Tester Amendment was stuffed in there to shut illogical people up, but does it matter? Not when we are now a participant of the Codex Alimentarius.

Basically, this bill (after it becomes law of course) will allow for the FDA to launch and write new laws (after it’s law… Remind you of Obama’s healthcare program) and guidelines for “food safety” its called. But, I must think that are larger powers at play here. If you don’t know much about genetically modified organisms (GMOs), I ask that you research them a bit. Basically, big agriculture firms are taking seeds that Mother Nature gave us, breaking it down to the molecular level, screwing with their genetics and producing new “GMO” seeds. Now this would be a great thing one would think, right? Well, that is until you understand what the corporation is doing to the seed.

      - GMO seeds are made to be sterile. This means that at the end of the year, a farmer can not collect and store seeds that would grow the following year; a tradition that dates back to the first man walking this planet. They must return to the company the following year and buy an entire new batch of GMO seed costing a considerable amount of money.

Basically, they are putting Mother Nature’s seeds on birth control.

      - GMO seeds only like to grow when sprayed with a “certain” fertilizer and won’t die when sprayed for pests unless a “certain” spray is used. Well, I’ll give ya a guess as to where the “CERTAIN’ fertilizer and spray comes from…. Yep, the same company that destroyed Monther Nature’s seed is now controlling the cultivation through chemically marking seeds to only react to certain chemistry.

Basically, they corner the fertilizer and pest markets by building seeds only reactive to their sprays.

      - As the GMOs don’t reproduce, they are certainly good at pollinating. That is, the seeds when they grow let off pollen just like every plant in spring. This process is necessary for a plants survival, but when GMO pollen travels to a farm lets say 500-miles away and cross pollinates with Mother Nature’s seeds, the plant is now carrying the patented seeds chemistry, or traces thereof. The company sends people out in the spring to illegally trespass on owners farmland, take sample and then test them. If a corn stalk for example has traces of the GMO’s genetics, they sure the farmer who have been cultivating the early for years the natural way for patent infringement. I’m not sure if you have noticed, but farmers are not making a ton of money these days. Once sued, most farmers loose their battle and are forced to contract with the GMO seed producer and become a GMO production farm. Well, that or go out of business.

Basically, they impregnate your daughter and sue you for child support.

OK, I digress to S.510… The “Food Safety Bill”…. Well, how can anything above offer any degree of safety to begin with? These genetic experiments are destroying food diversity through nature and law abuse. Now we vote a bill forward that does nothing but empower these people? Come on Americans.

5000 deaths per year is a drop in the bucket. If you want to point fingers at high deaths, how about our pharmaceutical industries? Over 2.2-million people have adverse drug reactions each year said Dr. Richard Besser of the CDC. Over 225,000 die from drug complications. REMEMBER, THE FDA IS IN CHARGE OF DRUGS, so I must think that the ultimate experiment may be on us, the people of this country as food is slowly turned into nothing but a lab project with a hungry population of rats.

Our food system is amazingly safe and to those family members that lost a loved on, I offer my sincerest condolences. But remember that a majority of deaths occur from big agriculture food production (beef recall, egg recalls, tainted scallions watered with eColi from the overproduction of cattle, etc). One death does not constitute a national disaster, but under S.510, it could if the new czar declares it as such. Of the food deaths that do occur, a majority can be traced back to big agriculture, not the small organic farm offering up grass fed beef, raw milk, free range eggs and other goodies. I love the buy fresh and buy local movement. I actually know my farmer today.

If you want food safety, you can’t rely on government to give it to you. Even with S.510 people will continue to get sick, will continue to die and will continue to contract illness via the foods we eat. If you want total safety from the world around you, there is only one way out…..

You must change the way you think about food, what you eat, where you eat and to further understand that terrible impacts food globalization has had on our health to date. If you want to be safe, eating that burger from the fast-food meal in a cardboard box made in China is probably not the best choice. Grabbing a taco at that Mexican joint? Perhaps another bad choice. Remember, what you eat is up to you, but regardless of how big government gets, how much we spend, how many bureaucrats we employ and how much liberty we trade for “safety”, we will never truly be safe.

If you want to be safe, get to know your neighborhood farmer. Buy local and buy fresh. Beef for $1.99 may sound like a great deal, but think about where it came from, how it was produced at that price and what the nutritional impact of that food must be within those conditions. Why would grass fed, hormone and antibiotic free beef be 4x the cost? Because natural is better.

      1. REMEMBER: THE NEW FDA SECRETARY IS THE POST VP OF PUBLIC POLICY FROM MONSANTO.

If the Secretary has “reasonable” belief that an article of food, and any other article of food…..

I told my wife over 25 years ago the day the government controls our food supply, is the day we become slaves to that government…Guess, what??? It just happened…As mad as we were when we when to the election box to try and do the right thing, it still ended up all wrong…My next prediction is the blodiest coup you ever saw here on our own land…

Control of the food is a Communist Party priority and in the old Soviet Union, the Jewish led Bolsheviks killed millions to achieve this. It could happen here, except more easily, because most of us don’t live on farms like the Soviets did. A strangle hold could be put on us very easily.

I recommend reading the bill at http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:S.510:. The closer you get to a primary source the better you can develop a balanced opinion. On a personal note some of us remember Soviet rule and this is paradise by comparison.

The bill had 9 Democratic co sponsors and 8 Republican co sponsors, far from being a commie plot from Obama and many of the “great” Republicans are there including Vitter, Chambliss, Hatch, Burr and Alexander.

Its all about, Starving off as many Americans as they can. We will only be able to eat the GM foods that they want us to eat and if its not all that nutricious, so what. They want to rid America of 280 + million useless food eaters.
