Six Waltons (original owners of WalMart) Have More Wealth Than the Bottom 30 % of Americans combined
In reading this article … I thought how did such an imbalance come to this land of the greedy who are free …
Then I remembered how neighborhoods supported their individual small businesses which served their individual neighborhoods …
There were ma and pops stores basically serving the people of their own individual neighborhoods … most were not getting filthy rich … but they provided a reasonable and fair service to their neighborhoods … and gained a reasonable and fair profit as to take care of their own in-house family ….
Neighborhood store knew their customers by face if not by name … neighborhoods were family …
But the ma and pops stores owners were not able to buy in such mass quantities as to out price the big business … so the bigger guy stomped their way in by stomping the little guy out … and did so by offering cheaper food prices …
And now we have cheaper food prices with cheaper food quality … the people had no idea what was happening right under their noses …
This not only destroyed neighborhoods … but it began all the evils that now surrounds the poisoning of the food industry …
I often consider that the whole object of this evil game play … was to take all OUR eggs and put in their one big basket … and now they controlled the eggs and the basket … and the people have control of nothing ….
Somehow we just got to get these eggs back out of the ONE baskets … and bring back the balance of health and wealth to society …
Six Waltons Have More Wealth Than the Bottom 30 % of Americans

Different people will take this different ways, but Jeffrey Goldberg tells us that six members of the Walton family (the original owners of WalMart) have more wealth than the bottom 30 % of Americans. Here’s where he says it:
In 2007, according to the labor economist Sylvia Allegretto, the six Walton family members on the Forbes 400 had a net worth equal to the bottom 30 percent of all Americans.
And given that he quotes us here at Forbes on the point, he’s almost certainly right.
The question is, what are we to make of this point? I think we all know what Mr. Goldberg wants us to make of it, it’s a telling indictment of American wealth inequality, the world’s going to the dogs and something must be done about rising inequality.
The Waltons are now collectively worth about $93 billion, according to Forbes. full story HERE
