Ranking Economists as of December 2015

REPEC serves a useful purpose as it provides a type of accounting balance sheet on the performance of tens of thousands of academic economists. Does past performance predict future returns?  Theories of momentum might be relevant here?   The data suggest that I had a good December 2015.

World Ranking out of 45,000 economists based on the last 10 years of output:

184 Pete Klenow 148.33
148.89
186 Matthew E. Kahn 148.91
188 Jose Alexandre Scheinkman 150.21
189 Iván Werning

Dr. Scheinkman taught me Econ 302 back at the University of Chicago in Winter 1989. I don’t believe he would agree with this ranking.
