Those who can afford to hoard gold would have already hoarded plenty of food, likely way more than most preppers. Heck they might even be able to hire people to guard their hoardings too.
I like Cliff , but his batting average is somewhat low. But he does make hits that are beyond chance. I think his take on the powers that be is correct, but it’s really anybody’s guess exactly when they will pull the plug. They may do it if they feel they are losing control.
