The Clinton campaign characterised Donald Trump as “scarry”. That was a clever tactic, because it is emotions that persuade, not ideas or policies. The media joined in on the “scarry” theme and people believed.

Clinton did not win the election, but the emotion remains. Now people all over the world who absorbed this message are afraid.
