by Susan Jones, CNSnews:

“I’m concerned about the president-elect’s relationship with Russia. That’s sort of an understatement,” Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Friday.

“There has to be an investigation into these charges that his campaign coordinated with Russia. He should — he has to release his taxes, because we have to know–”

“It’s not going to happen,” co-host Joe Scarborough cut in.

“It may not happen now, but if we put enough pressure on him,” Franken said. “You can release your taxes if you’re under audit. Also, he has not produced any proof that he’s under audit. So — right now he’s not going to release his taxes. But let’s — let’s put pressure on him.”

Franken noted that Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), at his confirmation hearing to be attorney general, said he would investigate Trump if that’s what the facts demanded.

“And, you know, if you’re a developer who has gone bankrupt several times and left your creditors holding the bag — you have to get money from somewhere, and we want to know where he’s getting that money — (if) he’s getting it from foreign sources, and if those sources are Russia, and if his campaign coordinated– those kind of questions, I think are–”

“Well, I think those are great questions,” co-host Mika Brzezinski cut in. “But how do you compel him to release his taxes…Are you going to look into ways to force this issue?” she asked.

“I think that they will unravel and be — ah, we’ll see what happens,” Franken said, “but you’re already beginning to see these charges surface, and we’re beginning, ah — some time will pass and there may become pressure. There should be tremendous pressure on him to release his taxes, for heavens’ sake.”

  • If there were anything illegal in his taxes, the IRS would know. So would the New York Times, which (illegally) acquired the tax returns.

And Al Franken knows there is nothing there.

What needs to be investigated is how Ed Koch knew to warn Al Franken to stay away from the WTC on 9-11-2001, which Al Franken admitted to in his own book.

    • “Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them” (2003) by Al Franken

“…To tell you the truth, I got the Jew call. I had an office in the Trade Center where I used to do most of my writing. The call came from former New York mayor Ed Koch.

“Al,” he told me, “don’t go to work on the twenty-third day of Elul [September 11, 2001]…”

      Let’s investigate THOSE guys.
