My goal is to help preserve our 2nd Amendment Rights by giving you examples of how the Obama Aministration is working to Take our 2nd Amendment Rights. In the days since the tragedy in Newtown, Americans from all over the country have called for action to deter mass shootings and reduce gun violence, and hundreds of thousands of people have signed petitions on whitehouse.gov’s We the People platform.
Obama’s new Gun Control Task Force headed by Vice President Joe Biden, the proposals coming to the forefront are focused on restricting the 2nd Amendment, government-controlled mental health services and governmental oversight of violence in social culture.
The GCTF will be empowered with propaganda studies and research proving that the federal government must do something about the American fascination with violence by rendering the 2nd Amendment useless.

Obama said that confronting the National Rifle Association (NRA) would be at the top of his national dialogue to gain popular support for this incremental destruction of the US Constitution. Obama is using the Sandy Hook shooting to further his agenda and deny Americans to retain their right to bear arms.
Speaking to the petition demanding Congressional legislation against assault weapons, Obama said: “I’m asking for your help to make a real meaningful difference in the lives of our communities and our country.”
Obama continued with his promise that he will devise a way to include mental health and cultural factors into gun legislation to permanently restrict access to assault weapons for all Americans. “I need your help. President Obama responds, explaining a comprehensive effort to come up with a broader set of serious proposals and encouraging Americans to continue their participation in this important process.
The public call to Congress to formulate a passable semi-automatic gun ban was foremost on the President’s agenda in an assumed attempt to “place proactive blame on Congress” if they failed in this task.

Senator Jay Rockefeller brought legislation to review the impact of violent video games on American children.
House Representative Tim Huelskamp asserted that the tragedy in Connecticut was being exploited by those who want to restrict the 2nd Amendment and blaming violent video games is more about parental controls and engaging in proactive parenting. In Minnesota, Governor Mark Dayton claims that the 2nd Amendment encumbers his state from controlling their citizens. Dayton said: “At this point, I don’t think we have an option under the Second Amendment to do what some people are advocating.

Hollywood artists and actors have taken up the gun control fight with a new video sponsored by the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence and the Mayors Against Illegal Guns.
The campaign video features over a dozen major celebrities such as Jamie Foxx, Beyonce, Sarah Silverman, Chris Rock, Steve Carell and Gwyneth Paltrow all begging people to “do something”. What is that something?
They don’t say specifically in the video, but they do act very concerned as they urge us to go sign a petition calling for legislation.
Second Amendment Foundation saf.org/ (SAF) is as vocal as the NRA when it comes to protecting our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Also Gun Owners of America (gunowners.org) is another organization that is fighting for our 2nd Amendment rights as is Gun Owners Foundation gunowners.org If you don’t want to join the NRA, consider joining one of these alternate organization to help support your 2nd Amendment Rights.

In the Senate, as part of a defense cuts proposal is an amendment to curb the rights of US Veterans to access guns. Senator Tom Coburn would like for the veterans deemed “mentally incompetent” to have the Department of Veterans Affairs decide that they would have their 2nd Amendment rights revoked and not be able to purchase or possess firearms.
Coburn said to the Senate: “We’re not asking for anything big. We’re just saying that if you’re going to take away the Second Amendment rights … they ought to have it adjudicated, rather than mandated by someone who’s unqualified to state that they should lose their rights.”
The Coburn amendment #3109 states that in order “to protect the Second Amendment rights of veterans” they must be deemed mentally competent so they may retain their right to bear arms. This is an outrage!
These are the men and women who have were willing sacrificed their lives to protect America and the Constitution. Now they will be given mental evaluations to see if they deserve their 2nd Amendment Rights? Something is wrong in America folks.

This is the only petition at the Whitehouse.gov website I could find were people who want to preserve the 2nd Amendment, can go to show their support for the 2nd Amendment. Obama clearly does not want you to find this petition, and he clearly does not want you to sign it.

The President has made reasonable suggestions to protect the safety of our citizens. His recommendations are well within the language of the 2nd Amendment and there was no mention of “disarmament” in his speech.
“The Supreme Court affirmed (5-to-4), holding that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to possess a firearm, unrelated to his or her service in a militia, and protects the right to use firearms for lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home. The Court noted that the Second Amendment does not protect possession of firearms (1) that are not typically possessed by law-abiding citizens for lawful purposes, such as short-barreled shotguns; (2) by felons or those who are mentally ill; or (3) in sensitive places, such as schools and government buildings. Moreover, the Second Amendment does not prohibit imposing conditions and qualifications on commercial sale of firearms.”
