7 Incredible Ways to Use Google for Education

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Do you want to get your things done? Then the first move you do when opening your browser can’t be typing Netflix or YouTube into the search bar. That’s not the point of productivity. With these tips you will end up studying faster, with plenty of time to watch your favorite series. So, why not use these incredible resources from one of the biggest IT firms. With these Google apps and websites studying will be hassle free and done in a blink of an eye.

1. Google Scholar

If you don’t know this one then you are missing a lot. Imagine a giant library. Now think that you can access it without even stepping out of your room. You don’t want to use Wikipedia or Britannica? Then this is for you. There are plenty of scientific publications, documents and articles, all professionally written and waiting for you to use in your essay, especially if you are writing a theory of knowledge essay. If you are looking for a TOK essay example, Google Scholar has a very easy searching option so it’s perfect for academic use.

Tip:  There occurs a Matthew effect so sometimes it’s worth scrolling a bit down.

2. Google Classroom

Remember that time when you forgot that you had the most important paper due on the next day? And when you pulled an all-nighter to write it, your printer turned out to be broken? Yeah, me too. Maybe teachers don’t know it’s already the 21st century. Well no, they know it, and now with Google Classroom you can write, and get all your homework and assignments graded straight from your room. It’s like school of the future: without writing the paper, without your dog eating your homework, and yes… without any excuses if you forget something, thanks to the reminders.

Tip: Buy your dog a new toy because now he won’t get your important work for breakfast.

3. Gmail

The perfect app and website for getting the necessary info after you have been sick for a week, or when you want to ask your friends about the lecture. Sometimes texting or using social media gets unnoticed. Mail is far more professional and it’s harder not to respond to an email from your classmate. Furthermore, Gmail is easy to personalize and intuitive so you won’t find any problems when registering to conferences or business magazines.

Tip:  Keep your inbox clean and you will use your mail more often. Decluttering is the key to productivity.

4. Google Alerts

You feel like you are missing new info on that specific topic and no news app provides information about that? Everything that goes online can be found via Google search engine. That’s why it’s perfect to step up your study game. You want to know when there’s something new about, let’s say, Madonna pops up in the net. First step is to create an alert, and then when something fresh is published you will get an email, the mentioned alert, and you don’t have to dig through the 15,580,000 websites.

Tip: Keep your alerts specified, so you don’t get too many emails in your inbox.

5. Google Hangouts

We have this saying:” If something can be used for many purposes then it’s useless in all of them”. I meant that you shouldn’t use the same app for personal stuff and schoolwork. Let’s think about Google Hangouts. You can easily and instantly ask your classmate about the trigonometry problem you have, video chat with him to get better understanding of the topic or getting a sneaky look at his notes. Imagine you have a presentation to make with your group, and don’t want to text everybody. Just connect via Google Hangouts, make a video conference and exchange your ideas.

Tip:  Two people will solve the problem faster than one, so why not study in a group?

6. Google Drive

You can get a bad grade if you forget your disk with a presentation or, usb port in the school computer happens to be broken. Google Drive can easily solve this problem. No more lost notes, no usb, everything is fast and simple. You can store there all your notes for future reference, your papers and assignments. All can be accessed within two minutes just by logging on the website.

Tip: Again, keep it organized or you will get easily lost and discouraged.

7. Google Books

Well this is a no-brainer. To study you need books. It can get a bit pricey when you buy all of them in a bookstore. So why don’t you buy them, or even find some for free with Google Books? All of them will be easily accessible on all your devices. On your phone, when you walk to school, on your pc at home which we use nearly every day.

Tip: Use it to get cheap books, and try to find some extra ones in that topic so you get better knowledge of the material.

To sum this up, these apps and websites are perfect to step up your study game and get better grades. They help you study faster, easier and more productive which is a key to achieve your life goals. Technology is the future, so let’s use it in a wise way, and get the most of it to help us study and then be successful society members.
