% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

“Some ideas are so stupid only intellectuals believe them.” ~ George Orwell

“Some ideas are so stupid only progressives believe them.” ~ Bob Uda

Here are some stupid ideas that progressives believe in:

• Bailouts work
• Stimulus works
• Some auto companies, banks, and insurance companies are too big to fail
• America is too big to fail
• We must tax and spend to get out of debt
• All rich people are evil
• Cut, cap, and balance will not work
• Entitlement programs help the poor
• Social programs are good for the country (code words for Marxist-socialism)
• Universal health care is a human right
• Social security, Medicare, and Medicaid are not going broke
• Obamacare will save money
• The Stock Market will not crash
• An economic depression will not happen
• Nuclear energy is evil
• Drilling for oil is bad for the country
• Unions are good for America
• Occupy Wall Street (OWS) protesters are good for America
• The Tea Parties are bad for America
• The Obama administration is the most transparent in U.S. history
• The Obama administration is the most honest of all previous administrations
• Barack Obama has nothing to hide; that’s why he has sealed all of his personal records
• Obama is the best president ever ~ Bob Beckel
• Global warming is happening and is true
• Islam is a religion of peace (http://www.mediaite.com/online/republican-rep-rick-womick-on-muslims-in-the-military-we-cannot-trust-them/)
• Terrorists have civil rights
• Fighting terrorists is police action, not combat
• Illegal aliens are not lawbreakers
• Pedophiles can be rehabilitated
• The mainstream media are fair and balanced
• Americans are lazy, soft, un-ambitious, unimaginative

Have you ever wondered why the United States has been on a steep slide over the past half century? These are the reasons why.

Joe Biden is the most intellectually astute Vice President this country has ever had.

    • Dr. Bob Uda, Ph.D., CM, CHSP, ILO

If anyone believes that, then they are true progressives. He is the administration’s court jester.

    • Sailfished

Some good points, but the author is not able to see the forest for the tree’s. Statements such as Tea Party = good/ OWS = bad. The sad truth is that both movements are organic ,spontaneous reactions to the outrages being perpetrated on the people. And both sides have been infiltrated and co-opted by subrosa groups with the intention of muddying the waters with the intent to keep us at each others throats, divide and conquer baby. I reccomend looking into a group Called OPTOR/ aka CANVAS/ aka The LUCIS trust amongst others. They are funded by U.S. intelligence and the United Nations” very quietly” Their goals are not our goals . Be very carefulwho you suppurt.

I covered global warming and illegal aliens, but I missed abortions.

So, there are no tea-party members at occupy wall street movements? Christianity is more peaceful than Islam? Drilling for oil is good in any and every part of any region? Countries define geography? Nuclear meltdowns are acceptable when they spread radiation halfway around the world from their point of origin? Any ol’ Joe with some careful financial planning can invest in their very own nuclear energy plant? Everybody is either progressive or non-progressive? Jesus is a tea-party member?

I feel sorry for you. Think outside your paradigm brother/sister. The world and your fellow man need you to be free thinking/feeling…especially now.

    • Dr. Bob Uda, Ph.D., CM, CHSP, ILO

Likewise, I feel sorry for you, Anon Y. Mouse. You are wrong in every instance. Your attitude is why our country and world are in their current dismal conditions. Your free thinking is progressive thinking. Progressivism AKA Liberalism is what has gotten us to this mess over the past half century. You also are a humanist who believes in relativism regarding right and wrong, good and bad, and fair and unfair.

Your brain has gotten too big for your heart. Truth is, you bore me, Bob. Enough to be concerned about you.

    • Dr. Bob Uda, Ph.D., CM, CHSP, ILO

@Anon Y. Mouse – If I bore you, why do you waste your time reading and commenting on all of my articles? You are like a little pesky gnat who says nothing in your comments. Your heart has gotten to big for your brain–You are a typical bleeding-heart progressive (code name for Liberal). I don’t expect to see you posting on anymore of my articles since we mutually bore each other.

    • Anonymous

I guess this is what I do when I’m bored. Maybe you can sym/em-pathize. I apologize if I’ve offended you. I’m sure you’re a perfectly nice person affiliated with people and groups who truly care about you.

Furthermore, in defense of my questions; I intended to reference ironies surrounding political motivations and one-sided arguments. Our social capabilities are more comprehensive than which of two sides will be taken in a system that hasn’t been matching our inherent gifts, indeed for AT LEAST the past half-century.

I’m sure you’re familiar with Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Less Traveled,” where the protagonist encounters a rift in the one path. Also, if you’re familiar with Frost, he employed what’s known as synechdoche…or, the phenomenon of relaying an otherwise indescribably cathartic message by describing it’s surrounding situation. Interestingly, Frost clearly states that both roads were equally as worn, or both paths appeared to the traveler as being equally popular. It just so happened that the traveler took the one that was traveled the least.

While we may decide that Frost’s poem has failed in it’s original intent. We can discern this much:

Often we are met with attractive and seemingly balanced options. When our ‘normal’ sensory receptors fail us and present paths that appear to be equal, it is up to our intuition to choose one that suits our courage and ultimately, to rely on the one gift that employs our intentions; choice.

You and I may actually agree. I may be ‘progressive’ however, I don’t feel it’s the government’s job to be involved in defining who we are to each other, or who we aspire to be individually. Finally, I believe the human psyche is entirely too large and complex to fit into one of two small boxes, nor does it need to for a political system to function and serve.

Good day sir, hope this finds you well.

      Taylor

No, you did not offend me. You just bore me…as I do you. So, why do you like to keep writing on my posts?

Ah, so you finally had guts enough to put your first name and the end of your post. Now, put your last name and city/state in which you reside–if you have the balls to do so.

Taylor, you need to get a life. Why don’t you write stories and post them here on BIN. That way, I can critique your work. Are you afraid to do that, or are you just satisfied to be a critic?
