Stacy Swimp,

I never knew, until today, that the Romney campaign actually put together a documentary interviewing Black Republicans, to be used for his campaign.

One that was never used.

My friends, Ken and Brenda Battle Jordan , were among those interviewed for this documentary.

Apparently, the Romney campaign was not happy with the end results and decided to can the documentary.

Very interesting. Anyone hear about this?

  • Ron Fleener That’s why he lost. He never fought.

  • Kitty Madera Where can we go to watch this documentary?

  • Peggy Smith Shilling He defeated himself. It’s sad.

  • Steve Chaconas why did they abandon this?

  •

  • Steve Chaconas Listening to black conservatives to be refreshing and inspirational!

  • Gina Clark Where can we watch this documentary? He didn’t fight hard enough! Seems like in the end he was just another RINO.

  • Vickie Kahle no, but it is darn shame, if they didn’t like it, why not do it over, we need the black community to safe this country.

  • Geoffrey M. Hurlburt No I didn’t…..I think it should be released.

  • Stacy Swimp I talked to Brenda today. She said it was never used. She and her husband hosted people from the Romney campaign at their home, had pizza, etc. but their time was wasted in the end

  • Guy Michael Welsher no. He wasn’t getting the black vote either way let’s be honest. Rand Paul is reaching out and actually explaining what the Republican party is all about. He will actually convert some black folks over. With Romney all they saw was a rich white guy. Romney’s biggest flaw was the 3rd debate he never went after Obama and in my opinion is what cost him the vote. We want a fighter not an appeaser.

  • Ron Fleener sad, very sad.

  • Tammy Green Melzac Hadn’t heard of it before now. Interesting!

  • Cheryll Long Ruley Brenda had posted about it, I remember, but I never knew what came of it. What a shame. Another lost opportunity. But, I believe there was so much voter fraud and election rigging that it wouldn’t have made a difference.

  • Kate Armstrong Never knew, but should have!

  • Tammy Green Melzac Black conservatives are the bravest folks that I can think of in this day and age.

  • Jason Gaertner Nope, never knew that, but I would still be interested in viewing the documentary. Is it on the Internet anywhere?

  • Cheryll Long Ruley Have you checked out this page, Stacy? https://www.facebook.com/urbanintellectuals

  • Irish Lass What happened to the video, its time to bring it out into the daylight.

  • Tomas A. Wheeler I would be interested in seeing it, myself

  • Jeremy Mayer Shame. I want to see it.

  • Kathi Elliott Eckert Ken & Brenda were wonderful to host the event. While it’s a shame the interviews didn’t go public – something that important is never a waste of time. People like Battle’s need to continue to speak up & out. Please thank them for their efforts & thank you Stacy for what you do. Winning 2016 is now our focus!!!

  • Karin Stahl Weinand Tollner why not,unbelievable..

  • Michelle Green Blease Conservatives in general are brave folks but minority conservatives? Godspeed.

  • Laura Northcutt I really don’t think that it was a matter of him not fighting hard enough. I believe it was a miscalculation on his part, that he really didn’t feel it was necessary to reach out to minorities, nor the conservative base, in order to win. He was wrong on both counts and that’s why I believe he lost.

  • Angie Dennis Musil Ken and Brenda are two amazing people! I follow their page and appreciate all of their hard work and dedication! People like them are going to change this world and make it right again!

  • Capac Townhall Proud to be involved in St. Clair County Republican Party Keynote Speaker: C. L. Bryant Creator of Film Documentary “Runaway Slave” Saturday, May 11, 2013 and
Monday and May 13th, a special screening of Runaway Slave – any questions, please call 810-320-3163. http://www.stclaircountygop.com/

  • Capac Townhall We are reaching out to everyone. Please attend one of these events…………..

  • Judith Ann Climer Miss you guys.

  • James Borst no, never heard about it…

  • Rose Jaeger Never saw it or knew about it.

  • Marilyn Davis Wilson Sad….another screw up…..See Translation

  • Anne Seymour Who cares? What is now is what is important and needs our attention.

  • Laura Northcutt It is important to understand how the worst president in American history could not be defeated. What happened that caused so many to stay home and refuse to vote for Romney. If the republican elite RINO’S continue to take minorities and the religious right vote for granted, can they EVER win!? NO! Somebody better start caring!

  • Julie Vanessa Graham Is it possible to see it, or was it never completed?

  • Pfer Tool No.. very interesting.

  • Margo Strawser Thaxton That was a mistake in my opinion. That along with not handling the debates better.

  • Richard Martin The Republicans are too gun shy and are easily intimidated by the press. They talk big talk, but rarely stand their ground.

The Democrats use everything they can think of, and when they run out of that, they make things up.

  • Diane Eagin Had they used it they would have been demonized by the media for pandering. That being said, do it anyway.

  • Greg Damron You would think that ever black person was a Republican instead of democratic. Considering the fact that dems started the KKK and didn’t want to do away with slavery. I don’t understand this at all makes no sense. It’s like they drank too much kool aide.

  • Del Riker Dems also fought the Civil Rights Act tooth & naiil, Southern Desegregation, etc. the list goes on and on.

  • Susan Thurman blacks were always republican because Lincoln was one. then also MLK, jr. was one. It all changed when the passed the civil rights bill was passed because all the democrats wanted was the black vote. deep down a lot of democrats are very racial. a democrat Margaret sanger hated blacks and she is the one who invented the birth control pill. her plans were to give them to the blacks so they wouldn’t have anymore babies. she was horrible.

  • Susan Thurman Del Riker, LBJ was the one who passed the civil rights act.

  • Rebecca Staunton Nope… What a tragedy and the Romney campaign never indicated Mitt being raised by a man that was involved with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Movement… A real tragedy, much inspiring information held back!

  • John Radniecki No, I didn’t hear a thing about it.

  • Tim Beard Unfortunate it wasn’t used. Not sure if it would make a difference.

  • Stephen Griley All doesn’t matter one bit. The ROTHSCHILDS wanted Obama in for 4 more years. It’s not about GOP and DEMS. it’s about money and banking. The golden rule,,,,, The one with the gold rules.

  • Ryan L. Natschke Kudos to him for not sinking to Liberals level.

  • Vincent Laporta Anything that might Help, Won’t get used.

  • Stacy Swimp Dr. King was not a Republican, nor was he a Democrat. Many say otherwise, but his own words ring true. He never endorsed candidates and he never lobbied for a party. He stood on the Bible alone and for issues.

  • Leonard Banko Nope, never heard of it.

  • Brenda Battle Jordan Thank you for sharing, Stacy.

  • Doug Lawson it’s sad, he should have won and he didn’t pull out all the stops. I wonder if he was threatened? or his family?

  • Richard Martin Andrew Jackson is credited with being the father if the modern Democrat Party. All the president’s before Jackson treated the Indians as a foreign nation and made treaties. Jackson decided to break them. The first was the Indian Removal Act.

Any party that argues over the word GOD being in their platform is seriously deranged. They either fear God if he doesn’t exist, or are offending him if he does.

  • Brenda Battle Jordan Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign hired veteran GOP operative and conservative pundit Tara Wall as its senior communications adviser, many assumed the former Massachusetts governor was preparing to get serious about his outreach to the black community. But Wall, one of the most high-profile black conservatives on the media circuit, says her primary job will be to shape the presumptive GOP nominee’s overall communication strategy — her ability to appeal to blacks, women, and other groups will presumably be a side benefit for the Romney team.

Still, as Gov. Romney takes on the nation’s first black president, it would be silly to think he wasn’t making a play for the black vote by bringing Ms. Wall onboard. As reported in The Washington Post, Romney’s plan is not so much to battle Democrats for the Black vote (he knows that would be a losing game), but to demonstrate to independent and swing voters that he “can be inclusive and tolerant in his thinking and approach.”

Ms. Wall will have her work cut out for her. Romney’s infamous quote that he’s “not concerned about the very poor” and his lack of clarity on the immigration issue have left him looking out of touch on social justice matters. And then a recent visit to a poor black neighborhood in Philadelphia to talk about education was greeted by unfriendly crowds — and some harsh criticism from Philly Mayor Michael Nutter. But, as Ms. Wall observes, Romney did show up, and he’s eager to demonstrate his willingness to interact with diverse communities.

If Philadelphia is any indication, it’s going to be a long, brutal road for Gov. Romney if he’s serious about breaking down the walls between the GOP and non-white communities. But Wall likes their chances. She recently spoke to UrbanFaith’s news and religion editor Christine Scheller about the challenge of being a black Republican, why Barack Obama is a likable guy, and how Mitt Romney’s policies will be good for the African American community. The interview has been edited for length and clarity.

  • Brenda Battle Jordan I wish i knew ?

  • Richard Martin Romney’s campaign was dwafted by 0bama’s. The Republican strategy was to win votes through reason. The Democrat strategy was to win votes by getting people out to vote. The Republican party doesn’t have the same mentality as Democrats, thus they lack the organization to get votes like the Democrats.

The cold reality is demagoguery wins, reason lose.

African Americans for Mitt Romney’ Facebook Group Hopes to Gain Support for the GOP Candidate, Will It Work?

Jason Cruger, a student at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, is fired up for the 2012 elections. In order to support the candidate he feels is best for the job, the 20-year-old is a stanch Republican and a fervent Romney supporter created a new Facebook group aiming to encourage African-Americans to vote for the GOP candidate in November.

While some might find it odd the young man is supporting Romney in the fall, Cruger says he’s used it.

He told the Hill: “I’ve been getting it since 2008. Anytime you tell them that you’re Republican, they’ll look at you very strangely, saying, ‘Are you out of your mind? What’s wrong with you? Why are you supporting [Mitt] Romney?’ ”

But Cruger hopes his group, along with the high unemployment rates for black folks (now around 14%), inspires many African Americans to give Romney and the GOP a second look.

“I think more people of my race should be Republican because I believe the Republican Party has been looking out for black people a whole lot.”

Since starting African Americans for Romney back in January Cruger has attracted 90 fans, some of whom seem skeptical of his cause. He’s hoping to reach 100 soon.
