Sacrificing your principles on the altar of short-term political expedience has a superficial appearance of human wisdom. But in fact it isn’t wise at all. It isn’t even practical. In reality, it’s short-sighted to the point of blindness.

Standing for the truth and for principle, even when it is painful and costly to do so, will always pay off in the long run. Even if the pay-off isn’t evident until eternity.
