Smart meters

The controversy rages nation-wide over smart meters.  Some say the radio frequency is 100 times that of cell phones and can cause cancer.  Some say they are a hazzard having already been responsible for several explosions and/or fires.  Others say they are not accurate and falsely raise utility bills.  While this controversey rages, with some states passing legislation making it a matter of choice, as usual, things are different here in Minnesota.

I had issues with my internet connection today, and when the cable guy came, I went outside to find that Xcel has already installed smart meters, on the building in which I live.

I recieved no notice, at all, that my regular meter was going to be swapped for the more costly, for me, and  dangerous smart meter.  One would at least expect notice, from Xcel, that this was going to happen.  But it appears that Xcel has chosen to quietly try and sneak them in on us, whether we want one or not.

Please, if you do not want a meter that is a health hazzard, is dangerous and will result in higher bills, let your power company know that you do not approve of sneak tatics to attach these dangerous and pricier devices to your homes, without your consent or your knowledge.
