Charles Fort: The Movie!

The movie, from Universal Pictures, is to be adapted from the 2002 Dark Horse Comics series Fort: Prophet of the Unexplained!, which portrayed Fort as an adventurous investigator pursuing aliens and murderers in turn-of-the-19th-century New York City.

Silver Screen Saucers is reporting: “An early pioneer in the research of anomalous phenomena – from ghosts to UFOs and everything in between – Charles Fort is to get his very own eponymously titled Hollywood movie.” ‘Charles Fort’ is to be produced by Robert Zemeckis [IMDB]; who’s produced a variety of different, fun movies including Polar Express, House of Wax, Thir13en Ghosts, Beowulf, and Real Steel.

Co-producing the movie will be Dark Horse’s Mike Richardson, and Imagemovers partners Jack Rapke and Steve Starkey. Dark Horse’s Keith Goldberg will be an executive producer.

That’s cool that Dark Horse is so deeply involved in the project, but I do cringe when I read about so many people involved in a Hollywood picture. Too many fingers in the pie, you know? Still, I’m looking forward to seeing this movie … more out of curiosity than excitement. It’s due out in 2013.
