Chapter 16: How to Deal with a 21st Century Woman--Eco-partners of the 21st century

          If you’re single in your thirties or forties, you’ve been busted up a­ few times too many.  Gun shy?  You bet.  Her life?  Yes, knocked ­down too many times, too.  We’re in the same boat, whether ­married or divorced.  We’ve been banged around once too often and­ we’re angry or living in exasperation.

          Since this is the age of recycling, we too, are being­ recycled.  Hopefully, into better human beings.  We’re older,­ wiser and more moderated.

          The key to recycling yourself is to do it correctly.  Is ­that easy?  It depends on what you want to become in your next ­stage.  If, like a crunched aluminum can that some guy at the­ bar smashed against his forehead, you decide to remain in that ­condition, you’re cheating yourself.

          Every guy has a story how his girlfriend or wife screwed­ him.  Look at Donald Trump.  Ivana took him for millions of ­dollars.  Did she make that money or deserve it?  No she didn’t, ­but she got it anyway.  After Kevin Costner decided he wanted to ­run around more, his wife snatched him financially baldheaded. ­ It was a price he had to pay for his decisions.

          When it comes to getting screwed over by a woman, both of us ­could bend your ear for a couple of nights–and that’s only the­ first woman!  You have to understand that everyone is out to take ­care of themselves first.  You too.  Trump, Costner and Willis were cheating on their wives and raising unethical behavior that Pope ­John would not condone. 

          You may have done a few things like cheat on your girlfriend­ or ex-wife, lied to her about a few things, and other activities ­you’re not proud of.  If you’re going to condemn anyone, you have ­to look at yourself first. 

           Every lady could repeat your story about how a man or ­several men screwed her over.  We’re sure Liz Taylor’s nine ­husbands weren’t that bad, but maybe they weren’t saints either. 

          Like any situation between the sexes, you have to understand­ that you have dealt with one woman.  Once you’re out of that­ situation and have learned your lesson, keep that fact in ­mind–if she did you dirt, she was a single person with her own ­agenda.  That doesn’t make her…’all women are bitches’.

          Take the negative past and use it to form a positive present ­and powerful future.  Try discovering why you got yourself ­tangled up with someone who was bitchy, underhanded, PMS’d, angry­ at men, or whatever it was that you found unacceptable after you ­had gotten into the relationship.   How do you do that?

          It comes by using your attitude.  Use all the bad things ­that happened to you and turn them into excellence.  You’ve heard­ it before…”If you’re handed a lemon, make lemonade.”
