How to Download WhatsApp for Mac OSX

If one is running their computer or notebook using Mac OSX then they need to follow few different steps to install WhatsApp to their computer. Normally emulators are the software which helps to install the apps like WhatsApp in the computer. This is the unofficial way. Because even today there are no official ways to do it since these type apps are basically for Smart devices like Smartphone and tablet.

Step 1: Installing BlueStacks

One needs to download the required Android emulator to their computer. Many people suggest the popular emulator available called BlueStacks emulator. Even though this is not official, but downloading BlueStacks emulator to the computer is safe and moreover it is freely available.

After downloading the file to the computer one should install the same. This is similar to installing any other software. After clicking the downloaded icon one has to follow the pop ups and instructions which will help in installing the emulator.

Step2: Installing WhatsApp for PC

After installing emulator on the computer one can now download install WhatsApp. After installation this emulator creates a virtual Smartphone environment in the computer. This helps in easy running of WhatsApp on PC.

If the emulator downloaded is from BlueStacks, then one can experience a virtual Android phone in their computer. Its main screen looks similar to a Smartphone screen.

Next step need sync with Google account. One can use their existing Google account or they can create a new one. After this sync got establishes, one can search for WhatsApp using search button. In the search result one has to find WhatsApp messenger icon along with a Install button. This is the time to start the installation of WhatsApp. After clicking the Install button, emulator will start downloading the WhatsApp file and installing it.

Step3: Configure WhatsApp

Once installation of WhatsApp is completed, it will start automatically. If not, one has to go to the main menu of the emulator and search for installed apps. Here they will find the installed WhatsApp icon. After clicking this WhatsApp icon it will get launched.

Now, one should do some setups so that this WhatsApp works with their existing phone number. If everything went well, then opened WhatsApp will ask for agreement to accept the terms similar to the step we follow when we installed WhatsApp in our phone.

Along with this agreement it asks for country and phone number as well. After entering the phone number, one has to get a confirmation code sent via SMS. This should be entered in the respective field to go further.

Sometimes one may face issue in this step but no need to worry. If not received confirmation code one can wait. They will definitely receive a call which gives activation code. With this activation code one can go ahead and complete the process.

Once your are able to sync using activation code, connection will be established between computer client and phone client. So the entire contact list which the user is already having in their phone will be loaded to the computer. This will also take care of chat history as well.

So the whole WhatsApp in the phone will get mirrored in the computer. There may be few features that we can list which computer client cannot do when compared to Smartphone client of WhatsApp. But almost all common features like chatting, uploading photos and videos are definitely included.

Some of the features which we cannot use in computer version include using WhatsApp voice calls, starting a group chat, and blocking a user.

After this set- up, the messages sent or received in either of the devices will reflect in both. This will happen in real – time. So if one deletes for example a conversation in their Smartphone client of WhatsApp, this delete will get reflected in the computer client immediately. But one thing is both the devices should have data package on.
