In October of 2011, the 7th billion human being will land on this planet.  From that threshold, humans will continue multiplying by 1.0 billion every 13 years to reach more than 10 billion within 39 years at the mid century.  The ramifications stagger the mind of any thinking American.  This series will give you an idea of what our civilization faces. 

In this continuing series, the “Galileo’s” of the 21^st century bring the most avoided issue front and center to the American people.  While Americans shy away from it via their imagined unlimited and unending cultural and religious ‘paradigm’ of water, energy, resources and space—harsher realities face them sooner than most understand.

In 1963, the United States housed a paltry 193 million people. Within 40 years, they hit 300 million. In another 25 years, they expect an added 100 million to hit 400 million on their way to 600,000,000 people by 2060 or sooner. They run on track to hit 1.0 billion by the end of this century.

But you won’t hear a word spoken or uttered about how will we water, feed, house and warm that many people!  It’s a cultural, religious and media taboo to even mention it.  You might call it a “sin.”  For certain the Pope won’t breathe a word about overpopulation.  President Barack Obama, one of the more astute presidents of this century, refuses to address it.  Not one world leader will speak about it.

Scared? You betcha’!  Stabilizing human population defies every religion in the world.  Thus, we continue breeding ourselves into a nasty predicament!

In his landmark book, Breeding Ourselves to Death, Lawrence Lader opened the discussion 40 years ago, but again, no one took a stand!  The Sierra Club avoided it.  Every environmental group out to save animals, land, water, air and bio-life—avoided a word about human overpopulation. 

In the meantime, humans jumped from 3.0 billion in 1970 to a whopping 6.8 billion in 2010—on their way to 10 billion just past the mid century.

Does that stop the Duggars of Arkansas?  They birthed their 19^th kid this year!  And, they celebrated it with mindless, ignorant, insipid enthusiasm!   http://www.duggarfamily.com/index.html

Can anyone imagine this country with every woman birthing 19 kids?! The Pope, of course, sent flowers and congratulations!

Mother Nature gasped at yet another full scale attack on her planet by an added 19 little mouths to feed, cars that will be driven and homes that will be built.
