"Scientists Warn Of Ice Age", Cites New Peer-Reviewed Russian Study

Mentioning the lethal “100-year, record-smashing” spring cold and snow spreading across Europe over the past month has for the most part been avoided like the plague by Germany’s mainstream media. The silence over the record cold and frost, which has killed thousands and cost billions, has been ear-ringing.
Yet some leading dailies are breaking ranks, and have begun to examine the phenomenon critically and openly.
For example veteran journalist Ulli Kulke at German flagship daily Die Welt today has stunned the rest of the German mainstream media with a piece titled Scientists warn of ice age.

Kulke writes that recently a growing number of scientific publications have been appearing in leading journals, and that they have been challenging the simplistic “one dimensional CO2 explanation” for climate change and showing that even the unlikely “doubling of atmospheric CO2 concentration by 2050 would not have dramatic effects.”
Kulke writes:
Yet, papers with such content, even though they have passed the peer-review process, do not make any headlines. But they have been becoming much more frequent recently.”
Increasingly it seems more and more scientists are now seeing huge opportunity in overturning one of the most ballyhooed scientific hypotheses of modern time, funding be damned.

I’m not too worried about am ice age, our ancestors survived it before. Now it would just mean a big boom in sales for REI and other out door brands.
I’ve been saying this for years and thought mad by many. No need for panic as there is plenty of room for 7 billion during an Ice maximum. I expect we’ll just have to live within 20 degrees of the equator for a while. By a while i mean 90,000 odd years. Ain’t it a fun ride?

The graph, Al Gore, used is the Vostok data up to a point.
Just because we have one harsh winter doesn’t mean we are entering the next ice age. Last winter in southern Ontario we hardly had any winter to speak of now this winter it is the complete opposite. One thing is for sure is the world climate is changing and not for the better. It remains to be seen if we will have another ice age. If we don’t warm up and have a growing season then I will think we are entering an ice age.
Hello Sapphire, i agree with your initial statement but; as it is worded very carefully it would be difficult to take umbrage. Well done.
I’ll grant that cramming 6-700,000 years into one graph, that doesn’t involve the risk of a neck injury to view, does obscure the data to a degree. The full data set shows all of the detail and Al Gore used some of it. His hockey stick graph matches exactly the Vostok data up to a point.
What of the tree ring data that actually shows steadily declining temperatures over the last 2000 yrs. Our current little ‘extra warm’ period shows up as a minor blimp on a nearly straight line to a tipping point where upon an Ice Maximum attacks with a roar.
Check out how many ‘in living memory’ records are being set of late. The count up of 100 yr records is becoming quite alarming.

Contrary to popular belief, global cooling is catastrophic to human civilization. Global warming is not. Within the last millennium we have accounts of warm periods such that vineyards thrived in the northern British Isles. When global cooling takes over, the agricultural zone shrinks dramatically. Migrations and even extinctions have resulted from historic periods of cooling. With 7 billion people to feed, a period of global cooling has the potential to eliminate several billion people.
