(Before It's News)

The issue of people receiving scam letters has been much in the news recently. As the Universal Service Provider, Royal Mail is legally required to deliver all addressed mail to the UK’s 29 million addresses, whether this mail comes from here in the UK or abroad. This includes mail that other postal operators have put into their network.

As part of Royal Mail’s general terms and conditions, their customers are required to ensure that mail items meet all relevant laws. They are not allowed to open mail in transit but they are nevertheless committed to terminating the contracts of companies found to be distributing fraudulent mail.

If you have any concerns about any mailings you receive you should contact the Royal Mail’s specialist scam mail help centre. By post at FREEPOST SCAM MAIL or by email at
