There is a great deal about in the newspapers and media about health matters and the human stories that are there to get to the readers. Increasing in recent years have been the many items about allergy etc. too often as scare stories too little as sensible information.

The result has been to confuse many people by loose wording and failure to make clear that there are many complications and often a good deal of uncertainty. It is not as easy as it seems and is part of the world that has been developed in recent decades.

This statement by The Foods Standards Agency from their Chief Scientific Adviser seeks to clarify the issues and complexity. The link takes you to the Fifth CSA Report and a page from which you can link to a PDF of the full  report. It is 19 pages but clear reading and with a number of diagrams.

If you are someone who reacts or has someone close with a problem or would like to know what the situation is it would be worth a few minutes time to have a read.
