A civil war in Syria? Really BBC? My UK government and UN representatives continue to push this idea. The truth is apparently President Assad has the support of the vast majority Syrians regardless of their religious background.

The majority of ‘martyrs’ in support of Assad – approx 100,000 dead Syrian soldiers – were Sunni, yet supported their Shia Alawite President Assad.
