Poland isn’t always the first country on everybody’s list when it comes to finding a holiday in Europe, but if you’re looking for a cheap destination that offers you a lot of history and culture then Krakow in Poland should be it. This is dubbed to be the next creative European capital, and is already rivalling Prague for the prettiest medieval city on Earth. There’s plenty of sightseeing, excellent food, European charm, and a country full of stunning beaches, lakes, mountains, forests and cities to explore, all at a very affordable cost. Krakow offers an impressive castle, and if you’re hunting for history there are plenty of WWII remnants such as the old ghetto in the Jewish quarter, Schindler’s Factory Museum, or even head out to Auschwitz for the day.


Slovenia is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe, with some of the most breathtaking natural beauty you will find in the entire world. However, this country still remains surprisingly off the beaten track, but is a gem that you should make sure to visit – because not only is it beautiful, it’s also exceptionally cheap. With the beauty of Lake Bled and it’s turquoise lake, fresh mountain air, and the medieval Bled Castle to enjoy there’s so much that you can take in, so you’re be unlikely to want to ever go anywhere else.
