(Before It's News)

Underground sampling and drill testing at Sunrise Resources Plc’s (LON:SRES) Bay State project has demonstrated high silver grades and has even confirmed the occurrence of some “bonanza grades”.

Bonanza values of 4,020 grams per tonne (g/t) of silver at the end of an adit over 61cm were returned in underground sampling at the project in Nevada, US.

Of the 18 samples taken, the average grade returned was 1,123g/t of silver along a 230m strike length.

Sunrise has also drilled five holes on the Chihuahua vein system, with three of those hitting high grade silver mineralisation.

A fourth hole demonstrated continuity of the vein system at a depth of 300 metres below the surface, the firm added.

“That’s an excellent strike rate and we have been successful in predicting the location of the Chihuahua Vein in all but one hole,” said executive chairman Patrick Cheetham.

Due to the high cost of drilling in winter, follow-up drilling has been provisionally scheduled for spring of next year, Sunrise added.

Shares in Sunrise were up 10% on Tuesday afternoon to 0.17p.
