Metals explorer Midas Gold Corp (TSX: MAX, OTCQX: MDRPF)  today unveiled further positive results from its ongoing resource optimisation drill program at the Stibnite Gold project in Idaho.

The program is aimed at enhancing the mineral resources defined in4 the preliminary feasibility study (PFS) three years ago.

One hole threw up the best results ever reported by the firm, it said.

Stephen Quin, president and chief executive of Midas, said: “The latest assay data from our ongoing drill campaign at Yellow Pine continues to provide positive results that support Midas Gold’s goal of enhancing the mineral resource at the Stibnite Gold Project,”

The assays come from three additional holes completed at the Yellow Pine deposit and a fourth at the Hangar Flats area.

“Hole MGI-16-421 is the best hole ever reported by Midas Gold from its drilling at the Stibnite Gold Project and occurs at shallow depths within the limits of the 2014 preliminary feasibility study mineral reserve pit limits,” Quin said.

MGI-16-421 included an intercept with a width of 21.3 metres at 5.67 grams per ton (g/t) gold, 26.7 g/t silver and 1.32% antimony.
