(Before It's News)

Boss of energy smart technology firm Pioneering Technology Corporation (CVE:PTE, OTC:PTEFF) Kevin Callahan said he was ‘very proud’ of the group’s recent achievements.

The firm, which is specialised in cooking fire prevention technologies and products, revealed it has been recognized as one of the top 50 performing companies on the Toronto venture exchange.

In addition, its innovative SmartBurner product has been named as a finalist in the 2017 Edison Awards.

Selection of the former is based on three equally weighted criteria: trading volume, market capitalization growth and share price appreciation.

In 2016, Pioneering’s trading volume was 25,176,449 shares, its market capitalization increased by 1,170% and its share price appreciated by 725%.

The 30th annual Edison awards showcase innovators who have globally influential ideas.

Chief executive Kevin Callahan said he was very proud on both counts.

“This is the kind of recognition our entire company has worked so hard for over the years. Thanks to all of our employees and to our shareholders who have and continue to believe in us as we work consistently towards increasing value in everything we do.”
