Hannan readies the drillbit in the hunt for zinc at Kilbricken

Hannan Metals Limited (CVE: HAN) has mobilized a drill rig to the Kilbricken zinc-lead-silver project in Ireland to begin the company’s first drill program since acquiring the project.

The plan is to drill four diamond drill holes over 1,800 metres in order to validate data gleaned from historic drilling, to extract a metallurgical sample and to expand the footprint of known mineralization.

Drilling will continue until July 2017.

“Our team has worked hard to extract as much information as possible from the extensive project and regional databases that took previous explorers more than €16 million of investment to acquire,” said Michael Hudson, Hannan’s chief executive.

“The high grade Kilbricken mineralization holds the potential to expand in all directions and with a $1.5 million financing recently closed, we are wasting no time in getting a drill rig turning at this highly prospective base metal property.”

Historically, Kilbricken has yielded 20.5 metres at 7.5% zinc, 9.9% lead, 0.07% copper, and 74.6 grams per tonne silver.

Semi-continuous massive sulphide mineralization has been drilled over more than 1.5 kilometres of strike, providing numerous opportunities to expand the mineralized footprint.
