I’m writing to you from the lobby of the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, just outside our nation’s capital.

When I look up, I can see Alexandria, Virginia, on the other side of the Potomac River. Standing along the river bank looking north, I can just make out the white top of the Washington Monument, gleaming in the sun just above a tree line.

It’s a beautiful day in the district. But I’m not just here to take in the clear weather. This week I’m attending the oldest and largest marijuana industry conference and expo in the country. Although the convention floor hasn’t opened yet, I’m already being updated in private briefings.

Fortune Seekers Abound

I’ve also been networking with cannabis investors to get the latest inside scoop on the state of the industry. Some faces are familiar. Others are new and include Wall Street bankers and Fortune 500 C-level types.

And they’re all here for one reason — to make money on the exploding marijuana market. This market is moving so fast that, unlike other trade events, this one is held twice a year.

As you might expect, I am here for a simple reason… to find the best opportunities for you to profit from the pharmaceutical and therapeutic applications of the cannabis plant.

Of course I’ll have a ton of highlights and exciting new stories to bring you in the upcoming days. But, before I do I want to give you a quick briefing on some of the attendees and exciting happenings at this year’s conference.

Spanning over 3 days, the conference is an A-list gathering of “who’s who” in the pot industry. Notable attendees this year run the gamut, ranging from “Big Pharm” executives and venture capitalists, to cultivators and dispensary owners.

And of course, also in attendance is a sizeable contingent of pot lobbyists and pro-legalization politicians,

With this mix of power names and experts you can be sure the next big thing in marijuana is being presented here.

If I had to say one thing about this conference right now, as it gears up into full swing — the atmosphere here is electrifying.

Big Names to Watch

One person I am really excited to hear from is Oregon Congressman Earl Blumenauer. One of the most recognizable political figures around, he is spearheading many of this week’s talks and events.

Congressman Blumenauer is a stalwart in marijuana reform and has been at the forefront of marijuana reform for over 40 years.  He’s one of the “go-to” names in marijuana politics.

His presence at this year’s conference could mean that great things on the horizon for marijuana legislation in the U.S.

Certainly more on this to come….

Another attendee that we’re very excited about is the team at Tilray. Tilray, backed by successful Silicon Valley venture capitalist Peter Thiel, is one of the world’s leaders in the marijuana industry. The company has carved out a significant slice of the marijuana space thanks in part to its innovative team executives.

Jennifer Hanson, Tilray’s VP of Business Development will speak on the new opportunities in the blossoming Canadian market.

These, of course, are only two of the many highlights we’re going to bring you from this year’s marquee marijuana trade and expo conference.

As I talk to more experts rest assured that you’ll be hearing a lot more on what I am learning in the near future… and how it could make you huge profits for your portfolio.
