Logan has drilling at Antelope gold project in sights

Logan Resources Ltd (CVE:LGR) is nearing starting drilling at its Antelope project in Nevada.

It has kick-started the permitting process for a 5 to 7 hole, 1,800-meter reverse circulation (RC) program at the property in White Pine County, it told investors.

Logan is considering nine USA projects – following the option deal last year with Pilot Gold Inc.

Antelope is one of them. Others are Brik, Drum, Griffon, Easter, Sandy, Anchor, Viper, and Stateline.

Antelope is described as a Carlin-style gold system..

Four modern gold mines, including Alligator Ridge, Bald Mountain, Golden Butte, and Kinsley Mountain are located within an 80-kilometer radius of the Antelope claims. The project consists of 65 unpatented lode claims under BLM jurisdiction.

Gold is concentrated at Antelope in the lower portion of the Pilot Shale in highly silicified sedimentary rocks (jasperoid), the firm said.

Historic rock chip and soil sampling was conducted by Amselco, Phelps Dodge, and Dumont Nickel, it added, with Amselco and Phelps Dodge together completing 138 shallow drill holes during the 1980s, which targeted outcropping gold mineralization.

This latest RC drill program has been designed to confirm results from selected historic holes and to test the northwest extension of near-surface mineralization.
