Jaxon Minerals welcomes member of Zijin Midas Exploration Fund as director

British Columbia focused miming group Jaxon Minerals Inc (CVE:JAX) has named experienced mining executive  Dr Yingting (Tony) Guo as a new director.

Guo is on the technical committee of the Zijin Midas Exploration Fund, which is  a strategic investor in Jaxon.

The fund is a subsidiary of Hong Kong-listed Zijin Mining Group – the largest gold producer in the world by revenue.

The group has made major investments near Jaxon’s projects, including an $80mln in Pretium Resources in 2015.

“We’re thrilled to have someone of Dr. Guo’s calibre join our team,” said Jason Cubitt, Jaxon’s president and chief executive.

“World-class projects require world-class financial partners, and the addition of Dr. Guo and the Zijin Midas Exploration Fund will play a vital role in building value for all of our stakeholders.”

Guo’s expertise includes mineral resource estimation, development, assessment, acquisition and project management.

He told investors that the Zijin Midas Exploration Fund was newly formed with a mandate to invest strategically, and on a global basis, in exploration stage projects demonstrating potential for a large discovery.

“We’re pleased to have Jaxon as our first investee and look forward to a long and mutually productive relationship.”
