Great Spring Styles From Tsukihoshi Plus GIVEAWAY! 4/13

I have a slight shoe obsession. (Okay, so my husband would probably say it’s a major addiction, but so be it… You can never have too many shoes, in my humble opinion!) So with springtime finally here, I have been updating our shoes right along with our spring wardrobes.

My main focus has been shoes for the kids. As a mom, I want my kids to have footwear that is not only stylish and vibrant, but also made specifically for little feet.

You see, children’s feet are not at all the same as adult feet. Their feet are not yet fully developed, so they require different arch support and more stability than adult shoes. This is so important for proper development and the right shoes during childhood can help to prevent foot problems later on in life. Unfortunately, not all footwear manufacturers consider this when designing their children’s shoes.

That’s why I was so excited to learn about the children’s footwear from TSUKIHOSHI. This Japanese company has been in the business of providing parents with shoes for their kids that are not only fun, but designed specifically for growing feet.

There are several reasons that TSUKIHOSHI has an outstanding reputation. They truly spare no detail in their footwear, and offer quite a few things that are beneficial to growing children’s needs.

First, TSUKIHOSHI shoes have balanced landing. Children’s feet may tend to over-pronate (land on the arch side) when walking. As a result, children need more stability in their shoes. TSUKIHOSHI shoes provide solid half sock board and a solid heel counter help to provide this stability in the heel area.

These shoes also provide excellent arch support. Like many parts of a child’s foot, the arch of a child’s foot is not yet fully formed. The ”Molded Cup Insole” is designed for children’s arches while helping to neutralize foot odor. (I don’t know about you, but I definitely appreciate less stink in my kids’ shoes!)

TSUKIHOSHI shoes are also very light and flexible. Children’s feet can not bend and kick forward well because they are not yet fully developed. Their latest innovation, a “Flex-Joint Outsole” helps to allow children’s feet to bend along the line from the joint of the big toe to that of the little toe.

Other awesome things about TSUKIHOSHI include the fact that these shoes have antibacterial soles, are very easy to take on and off, and are machine washable. Pretty cool, right? They also come in TONS of fun designs that are very colorful and fashion forward. 

The oh-so-awesome folks at TSUKIHOSHI generously sent each of my toddlers a pair of shoes to try out.

Xander received the Wheel design in navy. These shoes are absolutely adorable, and have orange detailing. (This is perfect, since they’re the colors of our favorite football team. Go Bears!) I immediately noticed that these shoes are in fact extremely lightweight and flexible. They are also durable and very well made, with no loose threads or crooked stitching. They also have a wide, easy to secure velcro closure that my 2 year old is able to open and close, all by himself!

My daughter Sophie is a very girly-girl, and always full of spunk. She has a very colorful personality, so I wasn’t at all surprised when she chose the TSUKIHOSHI Glitz in a bright pink and lime green color combination. These shoes are super fun, and even have pink metallic-looking accents that got Sophie’s attention right away.

Like Xander‘s shoes, this pair featured the same quality workmanship that TSUKIHOSHI is known for worldwide.

Sophie and Xander couldn’t wait to put on their new shoes and play. It was really cute because Sophie insisted on picking out a vibrant, colorful outfit that coordinated with her new shoes perfectly. What can I say, my girl‘s got style!

One of the things I like the most about these shoes is that my toddlers are able to put them on and take them off independently. This not only saves me from having to struggle to get shoes on squirming, restless children, it also helps them build confidence and pride. Not all shoes are so easy for little people to handle!

The shoes are obviously also very comfortable. My kids were able to run, climb, and play without having to readjust their shoes at all, and there were no complaints of pinched toes or blistered heels.

Overall, I am very impressed with TSUKIHOSHI shoes. They are very durable, and designed especially with my kids’ needs in mind. As a parent, I have peace of mind knowing that these shoes help promote healthy foot development. I also love that when messes happen, such as mud puddles, I can throw these shoes into the washing machine with no worries. My kids love them, too, because they’re comfortable and fun. It just doesn’t get much better than that! I am so happy to have discovered this wonderful brand!
