ELPH Band Safety ID Bands Reconnect Families While Keeping Info Private

Here in my Ohio hometown, there are tons of family activities. In the summer months, there are car shows and festivals on the riverfront, including live music every weekend. These events are tons of fun, and always include delicious food, a fountain for the kids to play in, and even games with fun prizes. While my town is on the smaller side, with only about 50,000 residents, these riverfront events tend to get pretty darn packed. 

Summer may be over, but we still stay pretty busy. This Halloween, we will be taking the kids several places. We’ll head to the I-X Trick or Treat Street in Cleveland, and we will also be hitting the riverfront for the annual Halloween party, and then we’re going trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. This will make for a very busy holiday for my preschool-aged children. 

This, as a mother, causes me some worry. I’m not going to lie…My biggest nightmare is being separated from my children, even for a few moments. Sadly, these things happen. Little people can be very curious, and can be lured away from their guardians by things as simple as other kids, a brightly colored toy, or even just plain boredom. With small children, like my 3 year old, Xander, it might be a challenge to reunite lost kids with their parents. Xander doesn’t know our phone number, nor does he realize that my name is something other than just plain “Mommy”. 

Thankfully, parents have an ally with the ELPH Safety ID Band. ELPH stands for “Easy Look-up to Phone Home”. These durable bands are unique because they offer a way to reach parents or guardians immediately, but no personal information is disclosed. 

For example: Let’s play pretend. (Of course I hope this never, ever happens.) Xander decides he wants to go look at other kids’ costumes at the I-X Center. This is a HUGE venue, and tends to get very crowded, so it would be all too easy for a small child to get lost in the crowd. 

So Xander is lost. Hopefully, a responsible adult would come to his aid. Of course he’d be wearing his ELPH band, which has clear instructions for contacting us. There are 2 ways this can work. First, there is a toll-free number that can be called. Once this number is called, the ELPH band’s serial number will be entered. Then they will be connected to the designated emergency contacts, allowing the child to be reunited quickly and safely. 

Overall, I am absolutely thrilled that the ELPH Safety ID Band exists. As the mother of 2 small children, I always worry about the “what-if’s”. Kids are curious little creatures, and they sometimes wander away from mom and dad. Thank God we have an ELPH Band to help reunite us with our child should he ever get lost. I especially love that there’s no identifying information on the band, and that all personal info remains confidential. If you are the parent or guardian of a child, I would highly recommend grabbing an ELPH Band of your own. These come in handy any time your child is in public, whether it be on a field trip, a family outing, or even trick-or-treating!
