Since we homeschool our younger kiddos, we try to make every day as exciting as possible for them. This usually means picnic lunches outdoors,  field trips to the zoo, museums, or even just one of our many local parks. These containers come in a variety of colors, so you could get a set for every member of the family! There are also individual components for sale to have extras on hand. 

Each kit is a modular system features an outer lid that snaps to the bottom base so that all of the inner containers stay secure during transit. There is also a removable strap  that not only provides secure one-handed carrying, it also eliminates the need for a separate bag.

We’ve been totally loving these great lunch solutions from the folks at Rubbermaid.

I love the Entree Kit especially, since it allows so much space to carry a full meal. As you can see, there’s a large main compartment where you could store a big salad or entree, as well as companion compartments that can hold condiments, nuts, or other small portions of food. These would come in very handy for those worried about proper portion control! 

The Sandwich Kit is another favorite of ours. The kids love their sandwiches, and this system allows me to pack not only a sandwich, but also a few snacks. Thanks to the strap, these components stay nicely in place until it’s time to eat. 

We also love the soup kit, but I have to admit, we haven’t gotten much use out of it yet. Here in Ohio, it’s been ridiculously hot, so we haven’t been having much soup lately. I did make a batch of soup just to try it out, and I was definitely very impressed by how well this works. The soup doesn’t leak, and you can even store crackers, croutons, or even cheese in the smaller of the compartments. 

Overall, we really enjoy taking our Rubbermaid Fasten+ Go kits with us when we hit the road for some educational fun. The straps make them so easy to carry, and the lids are very secure so nothing leaks or spills. (Even when a child is swinging the container around wildly, which my Xander loves to do!) I love the durability and functionality of these products, and they certainly make it easy to resist the temptation of expensive, unhealthy takeout or fast food.
