Buying Euro exchange rates gradually falling away from recent highs (Joshua Privett)

Buying Euro rates of exchange, whilst still moving up and down at a snails pace have managed to hit the headlines once more this week, with GBP/EUR falling away from 1.19 and just touching 1.17 as we entered into the weekend.

Regular readers of this website will have seen that the fall in the Pound was associated with Super Thursday. The hints given through this monthly tumultuous release of important UK economic data and forecasts, namely that it’s unlikely that UK will be seeing an interest rate rise this year and that prices were set to outpace wage growth at a faster pace than expected, were enough to drill into the Pound’s value.

Unfortunately for Euro buyers, next week seems primed for further Sterling weakness against the single currency. 

With little economic news of note to hit the wire this week, the domininant narrative will still be underwhelming views of the UK economy from the men and women at the helm of its financial policy.

Coupled with strong German growth data on Friday, the balane in the short-term in tipped in the favour of the Euro against the Pound, which is why Lloyds revised their forecasts down for GBP/EUR to end the week.

However, the saving grace as it were for Euro buyers can be found in the upcoming election. We are still too far away from polling day, if 2015 market trends is anything to go by, for the polls to begin biting on the markets just yet.

It simply depends on your personal situation and whether your currency requirement needs to be conducted next week or if you have a more relaxed timeline.
