Huawei Honor 7 and Honor Band Z1 Launched In India

Huawei has unleashed Honor 7 smartphone and Honor Band Z1 fitness tracking device in the Indian market. The 16GB variant of the Honor 7 in Mystery Gray and Fantasy Silver colors will come at Rs. 22,999 via Flipkart from October 15, while the fitness tracker will come at an enticing price tag of Rs. 5,499 by the end of October. As of now, there is no word on the launch 32GB and 64GB variant of the new phone.

The new Huawei Honor 7 features an aluminum alloy body and sports a 5.2-inch full-HD display with 423 pixels per inch. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop based-Emotion UI 3.1 and powers up by company’s own 64-bit Kirin 935 processor with four cortex A-53 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and other four clocked at 1.5GHz, paired with 3GB of RAM. The company says Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the device will also roll in the first quarter of 2016.

The camera setup of Huawei Honor 7 is enriched with a 20-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front-facing shooter. The main camera of the handset features f/2.0 aperture, phase detection, 6-element lens, Sony IMX230 sensor, and dual-LED flash, while the secondary snapper has been equipped with 26-mm wide angle lens, f/2.4 aperture and front-facing flash. It also features a fingerprint sensor right below the rear camera.

On the connectivity front, Huawei Honor 7 includes a bunch of options such as, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, 4G LTE, and micro-USB 2.0. It weighs just around 157 grams and tips on the scale at a decent 8.5mm. The battery packed with the phone holds a capacity of 3100mAh, and charges from zero to 50% in just 30 minutes. It also packs a new reverse charging feature using which Honor 7 can be used as a power bank to charge other smartphones.

Other highlight of the event, Honor Band Z1 features a 1.06-inch OLED display and powers up by a Cortex M4 STM32F411 chip built by STMicroelectronics, coupled with 128kb of RAM. It features IP68 certification for water and dust proofing, and is compatible with all Android and iOS smartphones. The new fitness tracker comes with inbuilt Bluetooth connectivity, and makes use of MyFitnessPal app to keep a track record of user’s sleep and physical activity.

The Honor Z1 band features polished metallic finish, and is backed by a 70mAh battery, which promises up to 4 days of charge on standard usage and 14 days of standby time. It will be coming in three color combinations including Pure cream strap with Silver Band, Cool khaki strap with Silver Band, and Subdued black strap with gun-metal Black Band.
