Nobel Committee: Revoke Obama Peace Prize and End Torture of Private Manning

To the Nobel Peace Prize Selection Committee:

It is detestable that your organization gave the Nobel Peace Prize to Barak Obama.  Now Bradley Manning is being held and tortured under the authority of a Nobel Peace Prize winner for exposing the crimes against humanity that continue under the Obama regime.  Your organization, by granting its award to Obama, has legitimized Obama’s torture regime.   Obama’s continued use of torture and assassination is a national disgrace that calls on your organization to rescind the award given to Barak Obama and to name Manning as its next recipient.  The torture he is enduring is worse than that suffered by Nelson Mandella.

Bradley Manning has sacrificed his life and is now a political prisoner enduring endless hours of physical and psychological torture.  His gift to the world is creating mass uprisings that seek peaceful evolutionary change and a new paradigm whereby knowledge becomes the basis for peaceful progression towards democratic institutions and an end to regimes whose authority is based on torture and murder.

We Americans ask that the Nobel Committee speak out against this travesty of justice that is a crime against humanity and start a global campaign to promote Bradley Manning’s release and his being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. 

Manning’s sacrifice is greater than that of Nelson Mandella as the world knew Mandella to be a man of peace, but the U.S. corporate media has demonized Manning to such an extent that nobody is even fighting for him in seeking to end the torture he endures daily. As your organization added legitimacy to Manning’s torturer, your organization has the obligation to shame a government and a murderous Nobel Peace Prize recipient that deserves to be shamed.

Change usually comes about after violence, mass starvation and murder, torture and ethnic cleansing while trillions of dollars are squandered destroying what has already been built.  The trillions of dollars spent on current and future wars could be used to advance human existence.  Yet, Manning brought change to 60 million people just in Egypt without any cost to humanity because he was willing to sacrifice his life in the pursuit of truth.  This truth has changed the lives of millions of starving people who have been denied food as much as they have been denied justice.

Even if the U.S. government keeps Manning jailed his entire life, there may be people in the future who are still willing to give their lives to save humanity if your organization fosters world justice and recognizes their sacrifices.  It is your organization’s responsibility to promote such behavior even when at odds with the state.  This is especially true when the state authorizes, supports, commits and encourages crimes against humanity.

Manning’s bravery has saved countless lives as the state seeks to crush all those who oppose it.  I humbly ask that this letter be distributed to the members of the selection committee and your organization provide assistance to someone whose actions embody the highest traditions of your organization.
