Vladimir Putin And Russia Replace George Bush As The Go-To Reason For Democrats Stunning 2016 Defeats

If you were to read the mainstream media, you’d think Rex Tillerson, the CEO of ExxonMobil and President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for secretary of state, were a puppet of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

To hear the Democrats tell it, Vladimir Putin is an omnipresent badman who is able to inject himself at will into the affairs of every nation on Earth and sway their economies, governments and elections by sheer force of his iron will and cleverness. Granted, Putin does make for a pretty good Central Casting bad guy, and an easy but obvious liberal foil. But before Putin and the Russian became the “reason behind everything”, Democrats had another miraculous uber-villain who used the be the reason behind all their failed policies and stupid, unpopular decisions.

Remember George Bush? Now, I have no love for the Bush Crime Family, but he didn’t nearly come close to being the reason why Democrats got nothing done.

So now that blaming Bush has been harvested to it’s maximum use, the decimated Democrats who cannot accept losing the House, the Senate and the White House must find someone else to be the reason for their failure. Enter Vladimir Putin and Russia.

If you were to read the mainstream media, you’d think Rex Tillerson, the CEO of ExxonMobil and President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for secretary of state, were a puppet of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Rex Tillerson’s Russia problem,” The Washington Post wrote in headline above the fold on Tuesday.

“Trump’s credibility problem on Russia,” NBC wrote, warning: “Tillerson has ties to Russia and Putin, including being awarded Russia’s ‘Order of the Friendship’ honor in 2013 and opposing the U.S.-led sanctions against Russia for its intervention in Crimea. And already, GOP senators are expressing concern about Tillerson’s Russia ties.”

President-elect Donald J. Trump said in an interview broadcast on Sunday that he did not believe American intelligence assessments that Russia had intervened to help his candidacy, casting blame for the reports on Democrats, who he said were embarrassed about losing to him.

“I think it’s ridiculous. I think it’s just another excuse,” Mr. Trump said in the interview, on “Fox News Sunday.” “I don’t believe it.”
