Evacuate South Africa

Recalling the French departure from Côte d’Ivoire in 1960, Mike Walsh, a regular visitor to the then French governed financial capital of West Africa, is thoughtful.

The Ivory Coast was a colonial paradise. There were little crime, and disorder unheard of. Separation of the races (benign-apartheid), as in all Europe’s colonies, was the accepted custom. Living side by side, both Europeans and Africans enjoyed the good life ~ and their own company.

Before control of Europe’s colonies was transferred to the banking houses (globalists), great advances were made in colonial infrastructure projects. Abidjan, capital of the Ivory Coast, was no exception.

When so-called independence occurred in 1960, the gullible natives rang their bells. Since the transfer of their country and its assets to the Wall Street-based banking global masters, they wring their hands.

When given their marching orders, many of the departing French colonialists felt a sense of grievance. Their self-built paradise was being handed over to the banking dynasties by their treacherous Paris regime without compensation.

Abidjan, the avant-gardism of which shamed many European cities, was abandoned. Many miffed French colonialists, before catching their departing ships, sabotaged recently built infrastructure projects. These included a recently built state of the art telephone exchange.

The French flotillas had hardly reached Marseille when the French evacuees were invited to return by the new regime. Unhappily, the country’s hapless native population was at a loss as to how to use a telephone, let alone manage, renovate and replace an infrastructure the envy of the European colonies.

Is there a happy ending to the story? To this question, there is a qualified yes. Many French settlers did return to the Ivory Coast. Compromises were made and a Land of Less Promise has been partially restored.

Mike Walsh is at his navel-gazing best as he wonders if this might be the solution for South Africa’s European population. So far, nearly 20,000 people have signed a petition to evacuate ethnic-Europeans to the United States. This follows the South African regime’s decision to seize legally acquired assets owned by Europeans. Mike Walsh, who for years traveled around the Dark Continent, is thoughtful.

“Yes, in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and elsewhere, there would be singing and dancing in the streets. The rapture would be short-lived.”

He says, “It is rather mindful of the tantrum teenager who leaves home only to return when faced with the realities of independence. As the saying goes, ‘you don’t know what you’ve got until you lose it.”

The solution is to give the hard-working innovative law-abiding Europeans of Africa the same rights as non-Europeans in Europe. Otherwise, let their skills be transferred to countries that will appreciate the European model.

In the meantime, South Africa’s self-delusional Blacks can re-build their mud and wattle kraals and enjoy their national sport of tribal warfare. They like ‘the blooding of the spears’; let the blood be their own. ~ Michael Walsh.
