CNN’s Anonymous Sources: Trump Suggested Intel Officials Refute Russian Collusion Narrative

zerohedge.com / by Tyler Durden / Jun 22, 2017  1:47 PM

CNN’s ‘bombshell’ revelation this morning, courtesy of anonymous sources of course, seems to be that Trump suggested the nation’s top intel officials should tell the truth to the public about the Russian collusion narrative, namely that there was none.  Shocking.

Of course, for anyone who has been paying attention, CNN’s “Russian collusion” narrative imploded about two weeks ago when Comey testified publicly before the Senate Intelligence Committee and confirmed numerous times that Trump was never under investigation.  And while that could all change, the only actual ‘facts’ we have at the moment on ‘Russian collusion’ (i.e. Comey’s testimony) would suggest that the FBI never thought there was a reason to investigate Trump. Moreover, we presume that the President suggesting that intel officials tell the truth under oath doesn’t qualify as a criminal offense…but that’s pure speculation on our part.

In any event, here is CNN trying to spin their latest, anonymously-sourced, nothing burger into a sinister plot:

Two of the nation’s top intelligence officials told Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team and Senate investigators, in separate meetings last week, that President Donald Trump suggested they say publicly there was no collusion between his campaign and the Russians, according to multiple sources.

Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and National Security Agency Director Adm. Mike Rogers described their interactions with the President about the Russia investigation as odd and uncomfortable, but said they did not believe the President gave them orders to interfere, according to multiple sources familiar with their accounts.

The allegation of Russian collusion in the 2016 US elections is the most prominent conspiracy theory in today’s news. The theory that suggests Russia conspired to “hack” the 2016 US election to insure a Trump victory, fits the literal description of what defines a “conspiracy theory”.

What about the report produced by the 17 US intelligence agencies which claims to provide “irrefutable evidence” that Russia hacked the 2016 US elections. The so called “irrefutable proof” contained in the report revolves around the fact that out-dated malware was implanted using a Cyrillic keyboard, from a Russian based IP address and documents passed to the MSM contained the name of a Russian.

This may sound convincing to anyone who has no prior understanding of cyber security. But, to those even remotely familiar with the subject, it is obvious that the malware used for the hacks is terribly outdated and is available to anyone in the world. The idea that a Russian cyber warfare expert would use a Cyrillic keyboard to commit such a serious offense is literally unthinkable and it is a matter of fact that any amateur hacker can invent an IP address to cover their tracks and this is indeed common practice amongst hackers.

The idea that Russia would commit such a serious offense and leave such an obvious trail of bread crumbs which leads directly back to them, is simply illogical.

In fact, every cyber security expert outside the influence of the USG, who has viewed
the information contained in the report produced by the 17 US intelligence agencies, has deemed the “evidence” to be laughable.

For instance, John Mcafee, designer of the worlds first internet cyber security software available for public consumption, was asked to analyze the information contained in their report. He destroyed the rhetoric of the “official narrative” by pointing out obvious problems in their analysis. He said the evidence contained in the report suggests the breadcrumbs left by the alleged hacker are so amateur, that it is more likely that a 17 yr old kid did this from his moms basement, and not any nation state, let alone a nation with the capabilities Russia has. He put the situation into perspective by further stating that if the CIA had been given the task of hacking a foreign nation and implanted American malware from an American based IP address, using an American/English keyboard, that CIA operative would be promptly scheduled for a suicide.

William Binney, who retired as the NSA’s technical director of world military and geopolitical analysis and who created many of the collection systems still used by NSA stated:

“”With respect to the alleged interference by Russia and WikiLeaks in the U.S. election, it is a major mystery why U.S. intelligence feels it must rely on ‘circumstantial evidence,’ when it has NSA’s vacuum cleaner sucking up hard evidence galore. What we know of NSA’s capabilities shows that the email disclosures were from leaking, not hacking.”

As mentioned above, this man designed many of the programs which the NSA still uses to this day. With his credentials and technical experience, he is arguably the most credible source in America with regards to the subject of cyber security.

No matter which side of the table you’re on, all parties acknowledged that Wikileaks is the platform that was used to present the DNC emails to the public. With that said, Assange might be the only man on earth who knows who handed him the leaked DNC emails and he has publicly confirmed on a number of occasions that he’s 1000% certain that Russia had nothing to do with hacking the DNC. He clearly stated that those who provided the information to him were not working on behalf of any nation state and that the information was not “hacked” but it was “leaked”. That confirms the statements of John mcafee, William Binney and Steve Pieznik, as they all confirmed that nobody hacked the DNC servers, but that the information was leaked from the inside.

So with all things considered, the Russia-phobia rhetoric propagated endlessly by western media has no objective basis in reality. It is merely a conspiracy theory
propagated by the USG. Russia became the boogeyman when they started hammering US/Israeli/Saudi backed terrorists in Syria. Now NATO has their new enemy to justify their unjustifiable budget. The red terror campaign gives NATO a reason to exist.

This is a government approved and propagated conspiracy theory, instead of one that is formulated by an inquisitive public in response to an impossible government narrative. The difference between a conspiracy theory formulated by the government and one that’s formulated by the public, is that those who adhere to the latter are slandered as “conspiracy theorists”. Whereas, those who refuse to adhere to conspiracy theories propagated by the government are labeled as agents of the supposed enemy. Again, these are lame, desperate tactics that are employed to attack the credibility of those who question the “official narrative”. These tactics are only employed in the total absence of objective response.

Witless CNN dupes end up looking stupid when faced with facts, because a lie cannot be objectively defended. Lies can only be defended by bigger lies. When an argument based on a lie cannot be objectively defended, that’s when the pathetic and irresponsible character assassination techniques come out. The employment of these worn out techniques, like the ad-hominem and strawman argument, is a sure sign of desperation, signaling that the debate has reached beyond the objective understanding of your opponent. These arguments are a desperate attempt to drag the objective participant of the discussion away from the point of contention by muddying the waters and ruining the train of thought.
