Reusing Optical Lenses To Make Art

Thousands of optical lenses are put in the trash every year. Many are stratched and unusable,  others can be donated to the millions of people who are in need. Optical lenses are being reused in various crafts, art and jewelry. We are loving the creativeness of the following artists.

To the best of my knowledge this is the first piece of art or at least the first piece of art reusing optical lenses using Google Glass. David Datuna, known for his recycled lens art called Viewpoint of Millions has created new art known now as Viewpoint of Billions which interacts with Google Glass to make a virtual reality art statement.

This recycled lens curtain was made with over 1600 Vintage optometry lenses. Artist Susan Sironi at the Chouinard Art Gallery in Pasadena, California
