Eliminating Straws Is Not The Only Answer

You have probably been seeing the ‘world’ start to eliminate straws.. but the reality is straws and stirrers are just the tip of the iceberg of the plastic being washed out to sea. The point of banning straws is to slowly but surely eliminate unnecessary plastic from our lives. As an FYI, Starbuck’s big news earlier this year as the elimination of straws by 2020d. Starbucks, the largest food and beverage retailer to make such a global commitment, anticipates the move will eliminate more than one billion plastic straws per year from Starbucks stores. This follows other large coffee chains in the UK, Disneyland, Marriott and others that have made a commitment to eliminate straws.

The truth of the matter and for what’s it worth, one doesn’t need a straw for 99% of what they drink. Top that off with with health issues and WHY IN THE WORLD, would you use a straw or any plastic if you don’t need to? Do you really need a straw?

Using a straw can cause bloating and gas. Reducing straw use and carbonated beverages can help with bloating and gas.

Most if not all plastic has chemicals, which are absorbed into liquids and then the body .

Since most people use a straw when drinking sodas or bubble drinks… Quit both and you will be healthier. Not only should you lose weight, it might also help in cavity reduction as a direct stream of sugar will not be going into your mouth.

There is some evidence that using a straw, like smoking can cause wrinkles around the mouth, all that sucking in.

Not using a straw decreased our dependence on oil, since straw materials are petroleum based.

Save a marine animal…Who hasn’t heard of the straw being extracted from a Turtle Nostril.

Bottom line, we humans and other living organisms have existed for 1,000’s of years without straws. I can 100% guarantee you, that humans will still exist in the next 100 years without straws, but they cannot exist without and ocean. In order to help save the ocean, each person must adapt their live style to not include plastic.
